‘WWE Extreme Rules 2018’ – Preview & Predictions

Welcome to the Extreme Rules 2018 prediction column, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and these are my predictions for the card. (All images courtesy of WWE.com). These are the matches announced for this years PPV:

1. Sin Cara vs Andrade “Cien” Almas – Rematch from this weeks Smackdown
2. The New Day vs Sanity – Tables Match
3. Alexa Bliss (c) vs Nia Jax – Raw Women’s Title Extreme Rules Match
4. Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt (c) vs The B Team – Raw Tag Team Championship Match
5. Carmella (c) vs Asuka – SmackDown Women’s Championship Match
6. The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs Team Hell No – SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
7. Dolph Ziggler (c) vs Seth Rollins – Intercontinental Championship – 30 Minute Iron Man Match
8. Jeff Hardy vs Shinsuke Nakamura – United States Championship Match
9. Finn Balor vs Baron Corbin – Singles Match
10. Braun Strowman vs Kevin Owens – Steel Cage Match
11. Bobby Lashley vs Roman Reigns – Singles Match
12. AJ Styles vs Rusev – WWE Championship Match

Kickoff Match – Sin Cara vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas w/ Zelina Vega

This will be a good match that gives Almas a win.

Kickoff Show – Six-Man Tag Team Tables Match

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods) versus SAnitY

This will be a stunt fest, I think, but it will get a great crowd reaction.

Steel Cage Match

Braun Strowman versus Kevin Owens

If they let this go, then it will be good, but I have a weird feeling they will play the screw-ball game with the booking here. I think Strowman gets the win.

WWE RAW Women’s Championship Extreme Rules Match

Alexa Bliss (c) versus Nia Jax

I expect lots of weapon moves, but not much in the way of good wrestling. Bliss gets the win.

Smackdown Live Women’s Championship Match

Carmella (c) vs Asuka

Asuka will lose by way of Ellsworth helping the champ cheat.

Intercontinental Championship 30-Minute Iron Man Match

Dolph Ziggler (c) versus Seth Rollins

This could be the match of the show and I believe this will be allowed to be just that. Rollins gets the title so he can defend it against a big opponent for Summerslam.

United States Championship Match

Jeff Hardy (c) versus Shinsuke Nakamura

Nakamura gets the title so they wrestle for it at Summerslam (perhaps in a Ladder Match).

RAW Tag Team Championship Match

The Deleters Of Worlds (Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt) (c) versus The B Team (Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas)

I’m not expecting much here. The champions will retain, I guess.

Smackdown Live Tag Team Championship Match

The Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) (c) versus Team Hell No (Daniel Bryan & Kane)

This will be a good match, no matter the length. I think Hell No gets the straps here.

Roman Reigns versus Bobby Lashley

I think this will be a fine match that gets over-booked at the end. Reigns gets the win.

Finn Balor vs “Constable” Baron Corbin

There’s no reason not to give Balor the victory. This will be a decent bout.

WWE Championship Match

AJ Styles (c) versus Rusev w/ Aiden English

This will be an excellent match that sees the champion retain.
