Netflix’s ‘GLOW’ gets a Season 2 debut date & “maniacal” new trailer

by Phil Wheat

Netflix has revealed, during the streaming service’s See What’s Next event in Rome, that the ladies of GLOW are returning for a brand-new 10-episode second season on Friday June 29th. The new season will focus on the women adjusting to their new lives as professional wrestlers, and the trials and tribulations of putting together a fast-paced weekly TV show.

As Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin) settle into the day-to-day of making a season of TV together, they confront lingering issues at the heart of their friendship. Sam (Marc Maron) is still Sam, but now he has a teenage daughter living with him and twenty episodes to churn out. The wrestling is harder, the stakes are higher and the hair is even bigger.

Both Alison Brie and Betty Gilpin are returning for the series two, with Annabella Sciorra (The Sopranos), Shakira Barrera (East Los High), and Wyatt Nash (Dear White People) set to join the cast this season. To accompany the announcement of the season 2 premiere, Netflix released a very 80s, very familiar, trailer – check it out below:
