TIntin comes to mobile gaming!
Hugo Games have announced that they have signed an agreement to bring Tintin to mobile, creating a brand new mobile game based on the original stories, characters and mysteries from the legendary Tintin albums created by Belgian cartoonist Hergé.
This will be the first time a mobile game will be built on the contents of the original Tintin books. The game will be a “Match 3” puzzle game for mobile devices and the game is planned to launch in 2019.
Hugo Games’ CEO Henrik Nielsen is proud to be chosen by Moulinsart to expand the Tintin universe with a puzzle game:
This is great news for Hugo Games and for gamers, because we will bring one of the most beloved characters in comic history, the legendary Tintin, to mobile devices. The key ingredients of a great game are a strong story line and good characters, and you don’t get them much better than in the fantastic Tintin universe. Everybody around the world knows Tintin, as well as the characters including Captain Haddock and Professor Tournesol (Professor Calculus in English). We are very pleased to be able to work with the IP’s of Moulinsart.
The Tintin collection is among the most successful European comic books of the 20th century and have been published in more than 70 languages with sales of more than 200 million copies. The upcoming game will be loyal to the content of those so-successful books, as gamers will travel through the same exotic signature places known from the comics while solving Match 3 puzzles. When the gamers succeed, they will unlock more iconic characters, scenes and items related to the comic books. There are 24 Tintin books and all of them will be covered in the game!
