MCM Comic Con, the UK’s largest organiser of pop culture events is back and ready to roll in 2018 with bigger shows, bigger guests and more explosive and interactive content; kicking off the year with its first event, MCM Birmingham Comic Con – and we have news of the first guests!

Dynamic duo and space pirates from Guardians of the Galaxy: Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) are the first guests MCM has announced to meet fans over the weekend. Joining them in the star-studded line up is Texan-born Brianna Hildebrand, who plays the awesomely-named Negasonic Teenage Warhead in superhero hit Deadpool, alongside Mark Sheppard who stars in Supernatural, Firefly and Battlestar Galactica.

For videogame fans out there wanting a bite of the action, MCM is bringing glory and victory to Birmingham with four of Overwatch’s heroes in the form of Anjali Bhimani, Jonny Cruz, Carolina Ravassa and Fred Tatasciore. But that’s not all… Award-winning video game voice stars Troy Baker and Nolan North will also be appearing at MCM Birmingham Comic Con!

The voice behind a whole host of video game heroes and villains, Texas-born Baker’s most famous roles include Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, Joel in The Last of Us, and Sam Drake in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Meanwhile Nolan North is best known for his BAFTA-nominated role as adventurer Nathan Drake in Naughty Dog’s critically-acclaimed Uncharted franchise, and most recently North has lent his voice to Ghost in Destiny 2 and Rocket Raccoon in Telltale Games’ Guardians of the Galaxy.

Says Danny Aindow, MCM National Event Manager:

Our first show of 2018 is shaping up to be a fantastic celebration of pop culture and will set the bar for bigger and better shows across the year. As the UK’s biggest and most exciting pop culture destination, MCM Comic Con dedicates everything to its fans and this is certainly one event you won’t want to miss.

Adds Mary Franklin, Global Event Director for ReedPOP:

ReedPOP is just getting started with MCM, and we are excited to connect with our fellow fans in this first show of 2018. We have added some special guests and content with the fans in mind, and we look forward to learning more of what we can add in the future.

Featuring everything from comics, movies, games and sci-fi to cosplay, anime, steampunk and online video, MCM Birmingham takes place on 17-18 March. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit www.mcmcomiccon.com
