First trailer for the Bloomquist Brothers’ short ‘She Came From the Woods’

by Phil Wheat

Following on from the debut images released at the end of last month, Mainframe Pictures have unveiled the first trailer for She Came from the Woods, a brand-new short film written, directed, and produced by The Bloomquist Brothers; which sees a campfire story come to life for a group of counselors on the last day of summer at Camp Briarbrook…. Horror fans and longtime readers of Nerdly might recognise the name Bloomquist – one of the brothers, Erik Bloomquist, was the writer/director behind the fantastic short film The Cobblestone Corridor, which we reviewed way back in 2015.

Said the Bloomquists:

She Came from the Woods is inspired by our early influences — particularly Nickelodeon’s Are You Afraid of the Dark?. This show awakened our imaginations, fostering a feeling of boundless possibilities and heightened sensory experiences. Our passion for these things has been ever-presents since childhood. It is a feeling that we hope to evoke in audiences — reminding them that sometimes there is nothing more fun than a good old-fashioned campfire story.

Inspired by shows like Are You Afraid of the Dark, the short stars Ehad Berisha, Justin Andrew Davis, Peyton Michelle Edwards, Olivia Helaine, John Pope, Eric Consolazio and Kristen Anne Ferraro. Check out the trailer below – and look out for a review soon:
