It would seem that not content with smashing one Kickstarter this year, for Untold #2, former guest of the show Daniel Farrand is involved in another. But this one has a bit of a difference to it. Daniel has teamed up with a group of 20+ creatives to bring an anthology to raise awareness on Environmental and Social issues. Hell the guys can say it better so heres the blurb…

The 4th Monkey is a comic book anthology featuring stories to raise awareness about environmental and social issues. Brought to life by 20+ comic book creators, each team will be creating a story about something that is near and dear to their hearts… or just something that’s been bothering them. The 100 page book will feature 8 short stories revolving around the following topics: Online Bullying. Poaching. Political Polarization. Mental Abuse. Ocean Pollution. Pesticides. Alcoholism. Suicide.

As you can see this gang of creatives have got something important they want to say and have found away they love to say it. However this kind of awareness project can take a little bit of money to get up and running. Daniel and James E. Roche have funded a big chunk of the artwork from there own pocket and they have opened a Kickstarter to crowdfund the rest and putting the book to print with some pretty awesome perks.

So head on over to the Kickstarter and see what you can spare to help get this book out into the world just click HERE.

Micropubs: The New Local

As a reviewer of movies, Podcaster of all things entertainment and huge supporter of indie filmmakers taking there drive and passion to create something awesome, well I am always looking for an interesting project to get me excited.

Little did I know that back in August whilst visiting the set of Tom Paton’s upcoming flick Black Site… Wait did I ever tell you we visited the set of Black Site, you know an honest to god actual movie with a crew and ever…. Oh I did mention that? Never mind then. Little did I know then that Danny Eycott, the 2nd AD and awesome bloke who was looking after us all day, is also a director in his own right, I didn’t know this till afterwards because as you all know I do my research after the fact. After a fair bit of success on the award circuit for his short movies Danny is now gearing up for his first feature length movie… Its a Documentary… About the rise of Micropubs!! Guess what its crowd-funding on Indiegogo right now and you have got to have a look.

So head over to the IndieGoGo page and give a little or a lot, whatever you can. These guys have done there home work you can see the passion and they are not going to disappoint with this documentary. I think it looks like a solid project to get behind. Lets be honest these Micropubs are popping up all over the place, but where did they come from and why the hell are they so popular??? Danny and his buddys are going to take us on an inside tour of the rise and rise.

Check out those juicy perks too… oooooooh… Sorry hard sell over. We would love it if you supported Danny and his team in this new endeavor. Just as a little incentive here is a couple of short movies they have made that have won a ton of awards and rightly so because there great. Best of all they are free, how awesome is that. Consider this your taster, a proof of concept if you will…
