‘Shin Godzilla’ stomps across UK shores this Summer
Hey all you OG Godzilla fans, we have some pretty awesome news for you all… Well all you UK guys that is. Today we got some fantastic news from the folks at Manga UK and felt like we just had to share it with you!
That’s right Shin Godzilla, the 29th installment of the long running franchise, FINALLY is making its way to the UK shores and guess what… It’s even hitting the cinemas! Now it is only going to be a short lived run, so if your a true fan you will need to book tickets as soon as you have read all this awesome newsy goodness.

Godzilla makes land fall in the UK this August with the theatrical release of Shin Godzilla from Toho Company, Ltd. Today, Manga Entertainment revealed that Shin Godzilla will roar into cinemas for a limited engagement on Thursday 10th August. Tickets for the film are now available for pre-purchase on the official film website, shingodzillamovie.co.uk. Co-directed by Hideaki Anno (creator of Evangelion) and Shinji Higuchi (director of Toho’s 2015 Attack on Titan live action movies), Shin Godzilla is the 29th Godzilla film produced by Toho and represents a brand new chapter in the 62-year history of this celebrated movie monster. The film stars Hiroki Hasegawa and Satomi Ishihara – both also from the Attack on Titan live action movies – as well as Yutaka Takenouchi.
“We are very thrilled to finally be bringing Shin Godzilla to UK audiences this August,” said Andrew Hewson, Marketing Manager of Manga Entertainment. “The Godzilla franchise is one of the most iconic in film history and we are incredibly proud to now be a part of that. This deserves to be seen on the big screen and we hope fans show their support for this limited theatrical release.”
Shin Godzilla has been a big hit in Japan since its opening on 29th July 2016, which garnered a box office of ¥ 845,675,500 and total audience of 564,332 during its first three days. To date in Japan, the movie has grossed ¥ 8,200,000,000 at the box office. The film also received its North American theatrical release in October 2016, and has grossed $1,918,403 in the US and Canada.
So there you go guys, Shin Godzilla is coming soon to our fair shores, get those tickets booked and let that geek flag fly for this is the real deal OG stuff, not that Matthew Broderick mess. Actually that a lie, I still hold a candle for that movie.
