Back This! – Cleanin’ Up the Town / Never-ending Dream
Welcome to the latest edition of our regular crowdfunding feature here on Nerdly – Back This! – where we take a look at some of the cool content taking the crowdfunding route on sites such as Indiegogo, Sponsume and Kickstarter. This month we’re spotlighting two new film projects: Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters, billed as the definitive documentary of the Ghostbusters phenomenon; and Never-ending Dream, a feature documentary about 90’s [Euro]dance music.
Cleanin’ Up the Town: Remembering Ghostbusters
Directed by Anthony Bueno and produced by Claire Bueno for Bueno Productions, Cleanin’ Up The Town: Remembering Ghostbusters is intended to be the most complete account of the Ghostbusters franchise, chronicling the enduring popularity of two of the biggest Hollywood blockbusters Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II, revealing how they came to fruition from inception through to the production.
The Buenos have interviewed over 70 members of the cast and crew responsible for bringing these stories to life including actors Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Ernie Hudson and Sigourney Weaver; director Ivan Reitman, producers Joe Medjuck and Michael C. Gross and editor Sheldon Kahn.
A Kickstarter campaign has recently been launched in order to raise the final funds. Running throughout February, it will enable the duo to complete post-production and secure worldwide distribution. Perks include your name in the films credits, posters, the usual digital/dvd/blu-ray copies of the film; to executive producer and associate producer credits for those willing to spend more!

Never-ending Dream
More than 20 years after filling up the UK Top 40, the Eurodance phenomenon is apparently making a comeback… Never-ending Dream is the story of Eurodance’s second coming and the people around it. Artists like Haddaway who had the hit “What Is Love”, Dr Alban and Captain Jack are already involved in the project, and by launching a crowdfunding campaign the filmmakers strive to reach Eurodance fans globally.
The aim of the campaign – which is currently running on Indiegogo – is to raise 100,000 euros for making the film. Rewards/perks include everything from a tweet from Dr. Alban to Co-Producer credits or, get this, a private gig by the band Rednex (of Cotton-Eye Joe fame)!
