What if I told you that Not Another Celebrity Movie stars Charlie Sheen, Johnny Depp, Usher, Justin Beiber, Brad Pitt, George Clooney and more – all in a tale about Charlie Sheen believing that Justin Beiber is his illegitimate son and plans to kidnap him from a Las Vegas show with the help of Clooney and Pitt. with an Oceans Eleven style heist plan?

I wouldn’t be lying about the plot. Because that IS the plot of this godawful movie. I wouldn’t even be lying about the stars in the film. I WOULD be omitting a key fact however… The rather important fact that all the “stars” of this movie are lookalikes! Some good, some bad, and some horribly, horribly bad. Dave Burleigh, as Charlie Sheen and Cole Downing and Nicole Lari-Joni, as Tom Cruise and Angelina Jolie respectively are the standouts – both physically and vocally the trio are on point, even if that’s not saying much given the shambles that are the rest of this lookalike cast.

The oddest choice in this cast though is Joey Sagal, who appears in the film as George Clooney, despite looking and sounding nothing like him. His is the only face I recognise in Not Another Celebrity Movie and that’s from his appearance as another celebrity – Elvis Presley – in the TV shows Chronicle and Nightmares & Dreamscapes! Odd fact: Sagal actually starred alongside the actual Charlie Sheen back in 1994, when he appeared in the action film The Chase.

But whilst the film is an almost unwatchable mess, it does have some fun things to say about the cult of celebrity – poking fun at all the celebrities appearing in the film, highlighting the bizarre aspects of their careers and lives – such as apparently not only is Tom Cruise actually a great spy but Scientology has given him Jedi-like powers! Yeah… Not really that funny but some of the bizarro “facts” about the celebs do raise a mild chuckle.

In the end though, Not Another Celebrity Movie is merely one long Charlie Sheen joke, referencing his 90s movie career, his departure from Two and a Half Men, his terrible relationships AND his “winning” breakdown on more than one occassion. A lot more. More of a case of “Please god, no more” more…

Do I need to tell you to avoid this like the plague?

Not Another Celebrity Movie is released on DVD in the UK, by High Fliers, in early 2016.
