Astron-6’s ‘The Editor’ to open Celluloid Screams 2014

This year’s opening film for the Sheffield Horror Film Festival officially been announced: The Editor, the hotly anticipated new film from Canadian filmmaking collective Astron-6. The makers of Father’s Day and Manborg return with their own unique take on the Italian giallo, starring genre icons Udo Kier, Laurence R. Harvey and Tristan Risk, which will officially open Celluloid Screams 2014 on Friday 24th October.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we are thrilled to announce that Astron-6 co-founders Adam Brooks, Matt Kennedy and Conor Sweeney will attend this year’s festival as special guests to present ‘The Editor’ and participate in a Q&A after the screening.

After a successful debut in 2013, the Celluloid Screams Allnighter returns this year on Saturday 25th October, this time with four slabs of sci-fi horror goodness. Full details of this and the rest of our exciting 2014 programme will be announced on Friday 5th September, when festival weekend passes and tickets go on sale.

Celluloid Screams: Sheffield Horror Film Festival returns to Showroom Cinema for its sixth edition from Friday 24 – Sunday 26 October 2014, with a weekend packed full of premieres, previews, special guests and more.
