‘WWE NXT’ Review (Apr 28th 2026)
Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: North American Championship – Myles Borne def. Saquon Shugars
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The North American Championship continues to elude DarkState as Saquon Shugars came up short in his effort to dethrone Myles Borne. The champion was shining early as his X-Plex, gut-wrench suplexes and huge dive onto the members of DarkState at ringside brought the crowd to its feet. Shugars caught a huge break as the top turnbuckle padding came undone, causing Borne to injure his throat when he got hung up on it. Unfortunately for Shugars, DarkState remain on different pages as Dion Lennox attempted to hit Borne with a steel chair, forcing Shugars to confront and stop him. That distraction allowed Borne to regain momentum and hit Borne Again to retain his title.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Sean Legacy & EK Prosper def. BirthRight
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
“Super” Sean Legacy is back, and he boosted his team to a big victory over BirthRight. EK Prosper was initially set to team with Dorian Van Dux, but BirthRight took him out before the match, setting the stage for Legacy’s epic return. After Prosper and Legacy took out Connors, Legacy lined up Stacks for a huge twisting neckbreaker for the win. BirthRight attempted to attack their opponents after the match, but Tate Wilder arrived on the scene and chased them off.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #3: Lizzy Rain def. Nikkita Lyons
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
NXT is officially rocking as Lizzy Rain defeated Nikkita Lyons in her incredible debut match. Lyons got the jump on the rocker, but Rain weathered the storm and nearly knocked out Devine Feline with a swift kick. A Vader Bomb attempt by Lyons didn’t work, and that opening allowed The Maiden of Metal to hit Thunderstruck to win her debut in epic fashion.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #4: Kelani Jordan def. Wren Sinclair
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
An incredible match between Wren Sinclair and Kelani Jordan turned sour when the leader of The Wren-QCC struggled with a serious knee injury. A shotgun dropkick off the apron led to the initial injury, but Jordan began targeting the knee until Sinclair was in severe pain. She attempted to lock in the Final Wrench, but the knee gave out, which allowed Jordan to hit her One of a King Split-Legged Moonsault to win the match.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #5: Shiloh Hill def. Ricky Saints
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Shiloh Hill picked up the biggest win of his NXT career by taking down former NXT Champion Ricky Saints in the main event. Saints immediately attacked Hill as the bell rang, but he became increasingly frustrated with his peculiar opponent, especially when he found a dummy dressed as Hill under the ring. After a Roshambo on the outside, Saints looked positioned to win the bout, but one slap awakened a darker side in the young Superstar. That rage drove him all the way to hit Whisper to the Beast and win the match.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
This week’s NXT felt like a show stuck in second gear. Nothing here was outright bad, but very little rose above “perfectly fine,” with most matches hovering in that range and never quite threatening to steal the show. The North American Title opener had some intrigue with the turnbuckle spot and DarkState tension, but it never fully capitalised. Elsewhere, returns and debuts added a bit of freshness—Lizzy Rain looked solid in her first outing—but again, nothing truly memorable. The main event gave Shiloh Hill a meaningful win, though the tone and storytelling bordered on odd rather than compelling. Across the board, this was a serviceable episode that ticked along without any real urgency or standout moments.
