Gears of War: E-Day PC specs revealed, Ultra 4K needs RTX 5070 Ti

by Nerdly Team

The Coalition has released the final PC specifications for Gears of War: E-Day, revealing an Ultra preset that sets a notably high bar for the shooter’s launch on 6 October. According to figures reported by VideoCardz, reaching 4K resolution at 60 frames per second or higher on Ultra settings requires a GeForce RTX 5070 Ti or Radeon RX 7900 XT.

Crucially, that 4K target is not native. Every resolution tier listed, including 1080p, assumes upscaling technology such as DLSS, FSR, TSR or XeSS is enabled, continuing a trend seen in other recent high-profile PC releases that lean on reconstruction techniques to hit their headline performance figures.

At the other end of the scale, minimum requirements are considerably more accessible, targeting 1080p at 60fps on the Medium preset with hardware such as an RTX 2060 or RX 6600. The recommended tier, aiming for 1440p on High settings, calls for an RTX 5060, RTX 3060 Ti, RX 9060 XT or RX 6700 XT. On the CPU side, the Ultra tier pairs its demanding GPU requirement with either a Ryzen 7 7800X3D or Core i7-14700K.

The Coalition has also confirmed that a dedicated hardware ray-tracing GPU is required across every performance tier, powering the game’s ray-traced reflections, shadows and global illumination. Launch-day features include support for DLSS 4.5, FSR 4 and XeSS 3.0, HDR, ultrawide monitor compatibility and a built-in benchmarking tool. Storage requirements have been listed at 115GB, with an SSD mandatory rather than optional.

One notable absence from the published specifications is Intel graphics hardware, which no longer appears in the requirement tables. However, XeSS support remains listed as a supported upscaling option, meaning this omission does not necessarily confirm that Intel Arc cards are unsupported at launch.

The requirements arrive alongside The Coalition’s confirmed rollout schedule for Gears of War: E-Day. Pre-installation will open on 29 September, with Premium Edition owners gaining early access from 1 October ahead of the full release on 6 October. The demanding Ultra specifications echo a similar pattern recently observed with The Blood of Dawnwalker’s final PC requirements, another major release relying heavily on upscaling to reach its top-end resolution targets.
