‘Blood Barn’ Trailer Promises a Bloody, Barn-Raised 80s Throwback
Set during the sweat-soaked summer of 1985, Blood Barn is a neon-lit, blood-splattered throwback that knows exactly what kind of movie it is, and leans into it hard. The story centres on Josie, a former camp counsellor who pulls her closest friends back together for one final weekend at her family’s long-abandoned barn before adulthood (and college) finally kick the door in. It’s meant to be nostalgic. It’s meant to be fun. Instead, it’s very, very wrong.
The barn has been left to rot for years, and the longer the group sticks around, the clearer it becomes that the place is carrying far more than dust and bad memories. Old tensions resurface, reckless decisions pile up, and curiosity about the barn’s past proves dangerously irresistible. When something violent and malevolent finally stirs, the weekend collapses into full-blown chaos, with bodies dropping and sanity following close behind. As the night spirals into carnage, Josie is forced to confront the dark legacy tied to her family and the barn itself before it claims everyone inside.
A high-energy, 80s-inspired horror-comedy, Blood Barn proudly embraces camp, practical effects, and gleeful excess: the kind of crowd-pleasing genre ride built for gasps, laughs, and shouting at the screen. Think big reactions, messy mayhem, and a love letter to the era when horror was loud, dumb, and gloriously fun.
Blood Barn is written and directed by Gabriel Bernini, who co-wrote the script with Alexandra Jade. The film stars Chloe Cherry, Lena Redford, Bambina, Sam Lanier, Felipe Di Poi, Pierce Campion, and Simon Paris. Produced by Andrew Gibson, with executive producers David Bernstein and Juliet Bernini, the film features a score by Jonathan Rado and practical makeup and special effects by Caroline Mills.
Blood Barn runs a tight 76 minutes and delivers exactly the kind of midnight-movie chaos genre fans crave. Check out the trailer and poster for the film, which debuts on Screambox on February 17th, below:
