‘La Femme Nikita: The Complete Series’ DVD Review
Stars: Peta Wilson, Alberta Watson, Don Francks, Eugene Robert Glazer, Lawrence Bayne, Matthew Ferguson | Directed by George Bloomfield, Gerard Ciccoritti, Jon Cassar, Ken Girotti, Naomi Janzen

In 1990, Luc Besson delivered the stylish action-thriller La Femme Nikita, starring Anne Parillaud as a convicted criminal who’s offered a second chance – not through freedom, but through transformation into a government-trained assassin. Following the film’s success and its 1993 Hollywood remake Point of No Return, the story found new life in 1997 when the USA Network launched its own TV adaptation, also titled La Femme Nikita. Now, Warner Bros. is giving fans of physical media a reason to celebrate with the release of the complete TV series on DVD.
Framed for murder, Nikita is forced into a covert life with Section One, a secret organization that takes on global threats with deadly precision. As she rises through the ranks, her loyalty is tested by betrayal, hidden agendas, and a complicated bond with her trainer, Michael. Across five gripping seasons, Nikita fights to reclaim her freedom as the line between right and wrong blurs.
Now the TV differs from the original film. In the series, Nikita is not a killer or drug user; instead she is just a homeless young woman in the wrong place at the wrong time. Peta Wilson is simply amazing in this series. She is so believable as the spy/assassin Nikita. The show was dark, brooding and an exciting ride all the way through the entire five seasons.
All 5 seasons, a total of 96 action-packed episodes, are spread across 27 DVD discs. These episodes are presented in their original 1.33:1 aspect ratio. The audio track is English 2.0 and there are also English subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Warner Bros. did a wonderful job transferring these episodes to DVD. They are crisp and clean; there are no digital artefacts or audio anomalies. The colours are bright and vibrant. But great looking transfer is not all that this release has going for it. They added some cool bonus features too:
Special Features:
- Section One Declassified: The Making of La Femme Nikita
- Designing Nikita
- Commentary on Select Episodes
- Deleted Scenes
- Gag Reels
Featuring nearly 100 episodes along with an impressive collection of bonus content — including behind-the-scenes featurettes, commentaries, deleted scenes, and hilarious gag reels – this DVD set goes above and beyond. These extras elevate an already entertaining series into a must-own release for physical media collectors.
