‘WWE Raw’ Review (Sep 1st 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on this week’s show…

Match #1: The Kabuki Warriors def. Raquel Rodriguez & Roxanne Perez

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In an explosive tag team showdown, Kairi Sane nailed Raquel Rodriguez with the Insane Elbow outside the ring and paved the way for Asuka to make Roxanne Perez tap out to the Asuka Lock.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Finn Bálor def. Dragon Lee

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When JD McDonagh leaped onto the apron, Dragon Lee turned his attention to the disruptive Superstar. The distraction allowed Finn Bálor to regain his senses, drag his opponent off the top rope, and hit him with the Coup de Grace for a controversial victory.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #3: Penta & The War Raiders def. The New Day & Grayson Waller

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After The War Raiders flattened Xavier Woods with dominant tag team precision, Penta finished him with the Mexican Destroyer for the win.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: Intercontinental Championship – Dominik Mysterio def. AJ Styles

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Just when AJ Styles was about to hit Dominik Mysterio with the Phenomenal Forearm, El Grande Americano emerged from nowhere and blasted the challenger with a loaded mask to the chest. This allowed “Dirty” Dom to capture the victory with the Frog Splash and retain the Intercontinental Title.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #5: Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed def. Jey Uso & LA Knight

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Although Jey Uso gained the advantage on Bronson Reed with a Spear/Uso Splash combination, Bron Breakker fired back with a wicked Spear of his own for the pin. After the bell, Reed and Breakker neutralized LA Knight before initiating a vicious post-match attack on Jey, presumably in order to put him in the hospital alongside Roman Reigns. Before they could finish the job, however, Jimmy Uso suddenly charged to the squared circle with a steel chair to send them out of the ring.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3/5

This week’s Raw delivered a mixed bag of action and storytelling. The show opened strong with a fast-paced tag match that energized the crowd, and the Intercontinental Title feud added some real intrigue. However, pacing issues crept in with lengthy backstage segments and uneven promos that slowed momentum. The women’s division had a solid showing, though some creative decisions felt repetitive and the three-hour runtime again proved challenging. Overall, this show offered some engaging moments but lacked consistency. A decent, if uneven, episode. Sc
