‘WWE Raw’ Review (Aug 11th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on this week’s show…

Match #1: Dominik Mysterio & El Grande Americano def. AJ Styles & Dragon Lee.

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When El Grande Americano dropped the metal implement he was attempting to put in his mask to use on AJ Styles, Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio loaded the metal into a mask of his own and blasted The Phenomenal One to set up the quick pin for his partner.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Sami Zayn def. Rusev (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Just when it looked like Sami Zayn was ready to overtake Rusev with the Helluva Kick, The MFTs viciously attacked him for the disqualification. As the officials worked to stop the chaos, Sheamus emerged from nowhere and ignited a brawl with the The Bulgarian Brute.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #3: Roxanne Perez def. IYO SKY

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When Raquel Rodriguez stepped onto the apron in the final moments, Asuka and Kairi Sane came down to hold Perez. When IYO SKY charged in, however, Perez moved. In response, SKY hesitated and allowed Roxanne time to get the three-count while grabbing the tights.

My Score: 4 out of 5

Match #4: Becky Lynch def. Maxxine Dupri

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch took down Maxxine Dupri in a title clash.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #5: CM Punk & LA Knight def. Bron Breakker & Bronson Reed (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When it looked like CM Punk and LA Knight were getting the upper hand against Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Seth Rollins suddenly attacked, which resulted in a disqualification. The only thing that stopped the carnage was “Main Event” Jey Uso emerging with a steel chair attack. As the dust cleared, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce emerged to declare that Rollins will defend his World Heavyweight Title against Punk, Uso, and Knight in a Fatal 4-Way Match at WWE Clash in Paris. When Uso worked to break up a fight between Punk and Knight, The Vision seized the opportunity to take out all opposition.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This week’s Raw delivered more hits than misses, making for an overall engaging show. The opening promo between LA Knight, CM Punk, and Paul Heyman was an energetic start, setting the tone for a lively night. Standout matches like the opening tag bout and the Iyo Sky vs. Roxanne match kept momentum high, while Bayley’s dark, captivating promo added emotional depth. However, the Becky vs. Maxxine bout fell flat, and two DQ finishes in one night hurt the in-ring action for me. Even so, the positives outweighed the negatives this week, leaving Raw feeling more exciting and worthwhile than it typically does… which is usually frustrating.
