‘WWE Raw’ Review (Jul 7th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on this week’s post Night of Champions show…

Match #1: Kairi Sane def. Roxanne Perez

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Moments after Kairi Sane countered Roxanne Perez’s Pop Rox to pick up the quick pinfall, Raquel Rodriguez and Perez launched a post-match assault on the victorious Superstar that was stopped by the emergence of Asuka. The reunited Kabuki Warriors fought back and forced Rodriguez and Perez to retreat.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: Bron Breakker def. Sami Zayn

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Prior to Sami Zayn’s match against Bron Breakker, Karrion Kross launched a sneak attack on Zayn. Insistent that the match take place, the injured Zayn soon proved easy prey for Breakker, who picked up the victory with three devastating Spears.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #3: Jey Uso def. Bronson Reed (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In his match with “Main Event” Jey Uso, Bronson Reed suddenly hurled a chair at his opponent, resulting in a disqualification. The bell did not stop the action, however, as Reed unleashed a brutal post-match attack on Uso and treated his adversary to back-to-back Tsunamis.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #4: El Grande Americano def. Dragon Lee

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

El Grande Americano once again used the loaded headbutt, stealing a win from Dragon Lee.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #5: Seth Rollins def. Penta

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In Raw’s extraordinary main event clash, Seth Rollins hit a low blow on Penta at an angle that the official couldn’t see and quickly followed with the Stomp for the victory. When The Visionary attempted to call Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed to the ring for the post-match annihilation of Penta, LA Knight suddenly emerged from behind and hit the BFT on Rollins prior to their clash on Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.75/5

This week’s WWE Raw felt oddly subdued considering the stacked weekend ahead with Evolution and Saturday Night’s Main Event looming. While the show did feature some storyline progression and a few decent in-ring segments, it lacked the energy and urgency you’d expect heading into two major events. Promos didn’t hit as hard, and the matches felt more like placeholders than momentum builders. There was potential, but not enough sizzle to get truly hyped for the pay-per-views. It was a passable episode, but the go-home feel just wasn’t there. More of a slow jog than a final sprint.
