‘WWE: Saturday Night’s Main Event’ Review (May 24th 2025)
Guess who’s back, back again… It’s Saturday Night’s Main Event! Yes, the classic WWE brand returns for a much-anticipated show, and the third such “special” since the brand’s return last December! Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker def. CM Punk & Sami Zayn
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The devilish duo of Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker reaffirmed that Monday Night Raw belongs to them as they defeated CM Punk and Sami Zayn in an incredible tag team match. The chaos started before the bell as all four Superstars brawled in the ring before the official got control, setting the tone for the wild fight. The uber-athletic Breakker shined with his incredible brute force, but the paradigm shifted once Punk tagged in and cleaned house before withstanding a Pedigree from Rollins. Zayn had his sights set on a Helluva Kick, but Heyman grabbed his leg, which distracted the official and allowed Bronson Reed to make his earth-shattering return by blasting Punk through the barricade. Now alone, Zayn fell victim to a brutal Spear that gave Breakker and Rollins the win.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #2: Women’s United States Championship – Zelina Vega def. Chelsea Green
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Women’s United States Title remains with Zelina Vega after a hard-fought victory over former champion Chelsea Green. Green dominated the early goings, wearing down the champion and using her mat technician skills to keep Vega grounded, all while Piper Niven and Alba Fyre of The Secret Hervice watched at ringside. Just when Vega got the upper hand, Fyre and Niven attempted to interfere, but it was all for nothing as the champion still hit an Avalanche Code Red to win the match and retain her title.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: John Cena def. R-Truth
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
John Cena defeated R-Truth and made it a point to embarrass him in a non-title bout. Cena blasted Truth before the match and continued the assault, but the challenger nearly stunned the champion by stealing his moves and forcing Cena to kick out of the AA and escape the STF. Out of options in his mind, Cena grabbed his title and went to hit Truth with it, but he hesitated and instead blasted his opponent below the belt when the official had his back turned. Cena used that moment to execute an AA of his own and defeat Truth.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #4: Steel Cage Match – Damian Priest def. Drew McIntyre
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Damian Priest and Drew McIntyre went to war inside of a Steel Cage, and when the dust settled, only Priest was left standing. The Scottish Warrior brought the fight to Priest and tossed steel chairs into the ring, kicking off what turned into a hellacious melee. McIntyre attempted to scale the cage, but Priest stopped him with a huge South of Heaven after trying to hit Razor’s Edge. The Scottish Superstar followed suit with a Claymore, but neither Superstar wanted to relent to the other. McIntyre set up a chair in the corner in the same manner that he did when he beat Priest at WrestleMania, but Priest countered, and that was the beginning of the end for McIntyre. Priest smashed McIntyre’s throat with the chair, and a massive Con-Chair-To allowed Priest to walk out of the cage, though The Scottish Warrior refused to be stretchered out.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #5: World Heavyweight Championship – Jey Uso def. Logan Paul
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Jey Uso defeated Logan Paul, and it came during incredible chaos and a shocking return. Uso dominated early, beating Paul around the ring and even countering a lionsault. The challenger’s signature right hand came in clutch as he clocked the champion in mid-air, but Uso countered the ensuing snapshot lariat with a Superkick. Uso seemingly had the match won, but Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena attacked the official and attempted to “ruin wrestling” by helping Paul win the title. However, Cody Rhodes returned for the first time since WrestleMania 41 and fought off Cena, allowing Uso to defeat Paul with a match-ending Spear and Uso Splash combo.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event delivered a night of high-impact action and pivotal storyline developments, but ultimately fell flat. Bronson Reed made a dominant return, aligning with Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker under Paul Heyman’s guidance, signalling a formidable new faction. Cody Rhodes returned to thwart John Cena’s interference in Jey Uso’s successful World Heavyweight Championship defence against Logan Paul, but those were the only memorable parts of the show – with Cena versus R-Truth feeling like a real low point for BOTH men’s careers!
