‘WWE Raw’ Review (Apr 28th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to our review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly! Let’s see what went down on the now Netflix-broadcast show…

Match #1: Rhea Ripley def. Roxanne Perez (DQ)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Rhea Ripley’s match against Roxanne Perez ended when Giulia attacked The Eradicator from behind as she was about to hit her opponent with the Riptide. During a post-match attack by Perez and Giulia, Women’s World Champion IYO SKY emerged to help Rhea out of the jam.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: The War Raiders def. Finn Bálor & JD McDonagh

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When World Tag Team Champions The New Day interfered from ringside, Carlito climbed the apron to cause a distraction. With the official’s back turned, Penta emerged to knock JD McDonagh from the top rope and set up The War Raiders to blast him with War Machine for the victory.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #3: Stephanie Vaquer def. Ivy Nile

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Stephanie Vaquer journeyed from NXT to best Ivy Nile with an SVB in an explosive non-title matchup.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #4: Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker (No Contest)

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

After Sami Zayn refused to be bullied off Raw by Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker devastated Zayn by hitting four Spears until the official was forced to call for the bell. Rollins then informed Bron that Zayn made his bed and hit Sami with an earth-shattering Stomp.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3/5

This week’s Raw delivered a lively mix of comedy, tension, and major storyline developments – even if it was light on matches! The Judgement Day bizarrely lost to the War Raiders after Penta caused a distraction, probably setting up Penta versus Dirty Dom down the line (poor Penta). Sami Zayn stirred drama by refusing an alliance with Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, and Bron Breakker. Pat McAfee was teased to face Gunther at Backlash, and Logan Paul threw down a challenge to World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso, setting the stage for explosive clashes ahead. A good episode, but far below the standard of last week’s banger!
