Final Verdict: 3/5
I always love it when wrestling shows do tournaments, it always improves the quality of the matches and USUALLY the show… Though god knows why AEW chose to pad out this show with two squash matches instead of giving the other, better, matches a chance to breathe. Interesting to see Megan Bayne take on Thunder Rosa after the weird interaction they had the other week! Mark Briscoe delivered another cracking match (the man is pretty much guaranteed to deliver each and every match TBH); whilst it looked – after the match – that FTR may be turning heel, given that Adam Cole and Daniel Garcia, who were ringside for the main event, shook each others hands as if to congratulate each others “teams,” whilst FTR refused to shake anyone’s hand and left the ring. We’ll have to see if that is the case… To be fair, them turning heel is probably the best thing for their presentation right now as there’s nothing left for them to do as faces IMHO. Ultimately this was great matches spoilt by too many squashes, dragging the overall quality of the show down a notch, unfortunately.
