‘WWE Raw’ Review (Dec 9th 2024)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: The Final Testament & The Miz def. The Wyatt Sicks

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The Miz and The Final Testament had their work cut out for them as they collided with The Wyatt Sicks in an Eight-Man Tag Team Match. Scarlett got involved but was thwarted by Nikki Cross, who took out the valet with a Lou Thesz press. Uncle Howdy hit the Sister Abigail on Karrion Kross, but Miz was able to save the day. Just as Howdy was about to take out The Miz, Paul Ellering made his return, throwing powder into the eyes of Howdy. Kross then struck with the Final Prayer to win the match.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #2: Liv Morgan def. Dakota Kai

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan got herself prepared for Saturday Night’s Main Event as she took on Dakota Kai. As the contest got going, Pure Fusion Collective made their way down to ringside to distract Kai. Kai executed a vicious kick but could not follow up due to Pure Fusion Collective getting involved. The interferences kept coming from Pure Fusion Collective, leading to Kai missing the Go To Kick. This allowed Morgan to land the Oblivion to win the non-title match.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #3: Triple Threat Match – Lyra Valkyria def. Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The chance to join Dakota Kai in the Women’s Intercontinental Title Tournament Semifinals was on the line as Lyra Valkyria, Zelina Vega and Ivy Nile clashed in a Triple Threat Match. Vega took out everybody with Meteoras, but Nile nailed a slam on Vega to almost win the match. Vega hit a Code Red on Nile, but Valkyria sent Vega out of the ring. Valkyria then connected with the Nightwing on Nile to win the match and progress in the tournament.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #4: Anything Goes Match – Rhea Ripley def. Raquel Rodriguez

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Rhea Ripley and Raquel Rodriguez collided in an epic Anything Goes Match. It did not take long before tables, Kendo sticks and trash cans were used as Ripley and Rodriguez looked to damage each other. Just as Ripley was about to Riptide Rodriguez onto a pile of steel chairs, Liv Morgan came down to aid her fellow Judgment Day member. IYO SKY then made her way to the ring to offset Morgan. Ripley threw Rodriguez face-first into a steel chair wedged between the ropes before following up with a Riptide through a table to win the match.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3/5

It was a pretty decent show this week, and it felt like it used the shorter two-hour format better than other recent shows. We got a steady flow of good matches this week too, with only the mid-card of the show letting the side down. And shocker of the week? The promos were actually good, and didn’t feel like they put a stop to the action either!
