‘AEW Dark: Elevation – Episode 65’ Review
Welcome to this week’s review of AEW Dark: Elevation which runs a ridiculously short twenty minutes and ONE second. We’ve only got two, yes two, matches on the card, one of which is ANOTHER title defence for Mercedes Martinez. Let’s get into it!

Match #1: Konosuke Takeshita def. Ryan Nemeth
My Thoughts: Konosuke Takeshita goes from a banger of a match against Adam Page to slumming it with Ryan Nemeth. OK, so it gets him more experience on AEW television but he’s already out-classed the likes of Nemeth in his existing AEW matches so this feels like a step back for a guy who, IMHO, could be in one of AEW’s title races right now. Now.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: ROH Women’s Title Match – Mercedes Martinez def. Mazzerati
My Thoughts: Mazzerati has had some great matches in Ring of Honor over the years but her February outing in AEW against Kiera Hogan, looked almost rookie-like. At the time I said Mazzerati looked green but she’s been wrestling since 2016… So I’m not sure if her style is suited more to ROH’s “pure” wrestling or what but there’s was something missing in this match too. Although the blame can’t be put all at the feet of Mazzerati, yet again Mercedes Martinez failed to impress – in her last title match I spoke about the clash of styles not working and the same applied here. Mercedes looked good against Willow in that title match but since then no one’s matched Martinez, every match has been lacking… Though Martinez’s delayed vertical suplex looked awesome!
My Score: 2 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
Hard to judge a show off just two episodes but when both are average then you get an average show AND score. Though it’s nice to have such a short show after last week’s deluge of AEW programming.
