Where To Start With GTA Online

by James Smith

If you’re like a lot of people, then you have Grand Theft Auto on your mind, and it’s precisely because of the fantastic release trailer for GTA VI. However, we’ll be waiting for that game until at least 2025, and don’t be surprised if a delay happens along the way. As such, the best way to get your fix is to hop into V, but if you don’t want to replay the story mode, then the Online might be what you’re looking for. But, it’s a huge mode, with a lot of content added through a wide variety of expansions. Where do you start?

Do the tutorial

It’s a good thing that the game offers you at least a little room to get familiar and learn the ropes, as it has a tutorial that you can skip, but it’s not worth doing. For one, it’s a decent introduction to a wide range of the activities available online, but also, people have experienced a bug from skipping it in the past that prevents progression.

Find a crew and grind

There are a lot of jobs that you can do in GTA Online, from races to death matches to capture and survival missions. These are the basic online modes that make the game up, but honestly, it can be frustrating to grind the money you need to buy all of the cool stuff in the game without a crew, so you should try to find one that is active as soon as you’re able.

Get into heists

Of course, if you’re playing Grand Theft Auto, then you want to play the overexaggerated life of a sauve and cool criminal, and the game’s heists are some of the best and most fun ways to do just that. You have to get up to level 12 to do that, but once you do, you can get into a bunch of both solo and group missions that see you going through a series of objectives, gunning down enemies along the way.

Or skip the grind entirely

Beautiful cars, penthouse apartments, boats, planes, guns, and armor. There’s a lot to grind to earn before you can really enjoy the full experience that the game has to offer. Nowadays, however, a lot of players are skipping that grind with GTA modded accounts. If it’s your first time playing, you might want to experience the progression for yourself but, otherwise, it might not be worth putting all that time in again.

Become a mercenary

One of the most recent additions to the gameplay, and by far some of the most fun you’re likely to have in the online mode is with San Andreas Mercenaries. These are kind of an evolution to the heist but are available right from the get-go, and see you focusing predominantly on combat, with some of the best shooting scenarios that the game has to offer

GTA Online offers a lot more than many players expect when first diving in, and choice paralysis is very much a real threat. With the tips above, however, you should find plenty to keep yourself busy.
