Final Verdict: 3/5
When this show let the matches go for a while, this show shined. Anything with a 3 or better is worth checking out, while the matches that ranked below the 3 mark were mostly just squash matches. Fourteen matches on a show that is less than two hours is ridiculous. There are three hour shows that somehow struggle with seven matches, so what made Tony Khan think that fourteen on a show of this length would work?
Tony really is pushing to be the next Herb Abrams, because he makes these hair-brained decisions (like he does with his family’s other two sports teams) that just don’t make sense. Tony should really split these tapings into two shows a week, so they have room to breathe. I get that people think that these are just growing-pains, but this league has been here a year and is getting worse all the time. You know, just because Vince McMahon has gotten worse over time, it doesn’t mean you have to follow suit.
You’ll find a lot of excellent wrestling in the first half of this show and I wish I could say that about the whole show, but Tony just can’t do anything with any sort of tact it seems.
