The Biggest Gaming Releases in 2019

For many, a new year brings hope, positivity and change. For gamers, a new year means only one thing – new releases. With the majority of young people owning a games console, it’s no wonder the market continues to grow, with new games coming out every month of every year. And this year is no different. There are a plethora of games set to be released in 2019 and we’re here to make sure you’re ready and waiting on the big day.

Online Casino releases

First and foremost, there are a number new online casino games being released throughout the year. With almost one million people in the UK using an online casino each year, this will be arguably the most exciting news for a lot of people. Whether it’s Golden Grimoire or Ticket to the Stars, there are already plenty of new casino games to get stuck into – with a lot more set to be released each month in 2019.

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, January 11th

If you’re an avid Nintendo Switch player, you may have already got your hands on this long-awaited game. Up to four users can play as their favourite childhood character as you attempt to complete this Mario adventure. Featuring 164 platforming courses in two main game modes, you’re set for hours of entertainment with this new release.

Apex Legends, February 4th

Released just last month, this Fortnite-style battle royale game hit a whopping 50 million players in its first 28 days. The game, which is available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, consists of 20 teams of three players, all vying to be the last team alive. With improved player communication and impressive gameplay, some have this tipped to be the next big gaming trend.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, release date unknown

This year, we’re expecting to see the release of the latest instalment in the Star Wars gaming series. The action-adventure game will tell an original story, based around a surviving Padawan, taking place shortly after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. While the exact release date is still unknown, the Respawn team is expected to deliver a ‘special panel’ on April 13th, so keep an eye out for that!

Mortal Kombat 11, April 23rd

Long-standing gamers can revisit the 90s with this latest instalment in the iconic Mortal Kombat series. With improved graphics, longer story length and the return of the series’ Krypt mode, gamers across the globe are eagerly awaiting the games’ release. The game is also going to be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch and PC, so no one will miss out on this release.

Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled, June 21st

As of June 21st 2019, Crash will be back in the driver’s seat. Since the re-release of Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy in 2017, gamers have been hoping the fast-paced, full-throttle driving game would closely follow. Relive your childhood with original game modes and familiar characters or try something new with never-before-seen karts and tracks, available on PS4, Xbox One and Switch.

Pokemon Sword / Shield, available late 2019

Since 1996, Pokemon has gained a huge cult following of gamers and anime fans across the world. So, the launch of a new Nintendo Switch game later this year has excited many fans. Pokemon Sword / Shield will be set in a new region – Galar – rumoured to be inspired by the UK, with new Pokemon and landscapes to discover.

2019 is set to be a great year for gaming and it’s impossible to list every exciting release. With just a few of the best listed above, it’s clear that there’s something for everyone this year, whether you’re a die-hard Xbox player, swear by PlayStation or have switched over to the Switch.
