‘WWE Smackdown’ Review (Nov 28th 2025)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this review of this past Friday’s episode of Smackdown, right here on Nerdly. Let’s see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Last Time is Now Tournament Match – Jey Uso def. Rusev

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Jey Uso took a big step toward becoming John Cena’s final opponent in the Last Time is Now Tournament when he executed a Spear/Uso Splash combination on Rusev for the huge victory.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #2: Last Time is Now Tournament Match – LA Knight def. The Miz

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Although The Miz raked LA Knight’s eyes, the official spotted him attempting to pin his opponent with his feet on the ropes. Moments later, Knight recovered and hit the BFT to capture the victory and move one step closer to becoming John Cena’s final opponent.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #3: WarGames Advantage Match – Charlotte Flair def. Asuka

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

When Asuka attempted to use the devastating mist on Charlotte Flair at ringside, The Queen moved, and the mist flew into the face of the timekeeper. Although The Empress of Tomorrow countered Flair’s Figure-Eight Leglock attempt with an Asuka Lock, the 14-time Women’s Champion escaped and hit Natural Selection for the three-count. The win allowed Flair to secure the advantage in the Women’s WarGames Match at Survivor Series.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #4: 5-on-5 Survivor Series Elimination Match – Winner: Solo Sikoa

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Eliminations went as follows: Chris Sabin kicked things off with a win over JC Mateo, capitalising when Mateo failed to notice the blind tag from the Motor City Machine Guns. Tama Tonga followed by putting away Shinsuke Nakamura with the Cutthroat, helped along by a timely distraction from Solo Sikoa. Rey Fenix then snatched a quick victory over Tonga Loa with a slick, athletic counter, but the momentum shifted when Talla Tonga brutalised Alex Shelley with a Chokeslam onto the ring apron before flattening Sabin moments later with a vicious clothesline. Tama Tonga returned to topple Fenix with a thunderous elbow after Fenix wiped out The MFTs with a wild dive to the floor. Sami Zayn broke the chaos by defeating Tama with the Helluva Kick, and Talla Tonga soon found himself counted out after Zayn dodged and sent him crashing over the barricade. In the end, Solo Sikoa stood tall, finishing Zayn with the Samoan Spike. After the match, the lights suddenly went to black, and when they came back on, Sikoa was face-to-face with The Wyatt Sicks, who stared at him from the apron. This distraction allowed Uncle Howdy to attack from behind and hit Sikoa with a devastating Sister Abigail.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

SmackDown was firmly average this week – not terrible, not memorable, just… there. The big elimination match added some energy and the Wyatt Sicks appearance gave the show a much-needed jolt, but everything else felt flat. The tournament bouts were fine but uninspired, and the women’s WarGames build barely moved an inch, leaving that story cold. Most of the midcard was on ice, pacing dragged, and the crowd never really came alive, giving the whole episode a lukewarm vibe. A watchable but skippable show that did the bare minimum without offering anything essential.
