‘WWE: Saturday Night’s Main Event’ Review (Nov 1st 2025)
Guess who’s back, back again… It’s Saturday Night’s Main Event! Yes, the classic WWE brand returns for a much-anticipated show – once again going head-to-head with AEW programming, this time Collision! Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this “special” show…

Match #1: Undisputed WWE Championship – Cody Rhodes def. Drew McIntyre
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the opening match of Saturday Night’s Main Event, a last-minute stipulation made during SmackDown established that if Cody Rhodes got counted out or disqualified, he would lose the Undisputed WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre the same as he would if he was pinned or submitted. Though he had given up his championship advantage, Rhodes powered through. After the official got taken out and McIntyre introduced the title into the action, the champion DDT’d The Scottish Psychopath onto the gold before finishing him with the Cross Rhodes for the successful defense.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Match #2: Women’s Championship – Jade Cargill def. Tiffany Stratton
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Handicapped by an obvious knee injury due to an attack by Jade Cargill two weeks ago on SmackDown, the tough Tiffany Stratton fell victim to her vicious challenger, who hit Jaded to become the new WWE Women’s Champion.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #3: Intercontinental Championship – Dominik Mysterio def. Penta and Rusev
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In the final moments, Rusev locked Penta in the Accolade. Mysterio, however, caused a commotion by ringing the bell at ringside and making it look as if the matchup was over, thus preventing a possible Penta tapout. A furious Rusev chased “Dirty” Dom, but the tricky titleholder took out The Bulgarian Brute momentarily. Back in the ring, Penta took the ring hammer from Mysterio. When Penta attempted to strike Dom with it, however, the champion moved, and Penta hit Rusev instead. Dom quickly threw Penta into the ring post before hitting the Frog Splash on Rusev for another controversial win.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #4: World Heavyweight Championship – CM Punk def. Jey Uso
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In an instant classic pitting CM Punk against “Main Event” Jey Uso for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, The Second City Saint countered a Spear with a kick to the face before defeating Uso with a GTS to finally capture the World Heavyweight Championship.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Final Verdict: 3/5
Despite the stacked card, this week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event didn’t quite live up to the hype. CM Punk’s victory over Jey Uso to become the new World Heavyweight Champion should’ve been a triumphant moment, but the match lacked urgency and emotional payoff. It felt more like a formality than a crowning achievement. Jade Cargill’s win over Tiffany Stratton for the Women’s Championship was dominant yet predictable, impressive in moments, but too short to feel significant. Cody Rhodes versus Drew McIntyre delivered technically, but the formulaic structure and flat crowd reactions dulled its impact. Even the Intercontinental triple threat, featuring Dominik Mysterio, Penta, and Rusev, struggled to rise above average. The production and star power were there, but the energy just wasn’t. For a show meant to feel special, this one came off as routine – more about moving storylines along than delivering memorable moments.
