‘AEW: Collision’ Review (Apr 12th 2025)
Welcome to this week’s review of AEW’s, Collision, which brings wrestling back to Saturday nights. We’ve got the commentary team of Tony Schiavone, and Nigel McGuiness calling the action, so let’s get into our review!
Match #1: 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Quarterfinal Match – Jamie Hayter def. Billie Starkz

The winner faces Kris Statlander. Hayter went to slug Starkz, but Starkz dropped down to the mat to avoid it. Billie landed a round house kick to Hayter. Billie went for a tope suicida, but Hayter blocked it with a clubbing blow. Hayter whipped Billie into the barricade. Starkz took a big risk, and it paid off with a swanton bomb off the guardrail onto the back of Hayter. Jamie hit a spinebuster for a near fall. Starkz used a leg sweep and followed up with a German suplex. Hayter connected with a basement clothesline which was good for a two-count. Billie nailed Hayter with a twisting neck breaker for a near fall. Billie landed another swanton bomb. Hayter wiped out Billie with a vertical suplex off the apron and down onto the arena floor. Hayter staggered Starkz with a thrust kick and then walloped her with the Hayter Aid to pick up the pin and advance in the tournament.

Match #2: The Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona) def. Smash & Burn

Toa Liona ran right through both members of Smash & Burn. Bishop Kaun finished them off and grabbed a dominant victory for his team.

Match #3: Anthony Bowens def. Blake Christian

Blake controlled the match early on. Bowens regained momentum with the Fame Asser. Bowens blasted Blake with the Grand Slam for a near fall. Blake got a running start and connected with a tope. Bowens fired back with a spinning DDT. Bowens went for the cover, but Lee put Blake’s boot on the bottom rope. Blake connected with a Spanish Fly and a corkscrew kick. Christian landed a 450 stomp for a near fall. Blake rocked Bowens with a stunner. Bowens rallied back with a thrust kick! Billy KO’ed Lee while Bowens finished off Blake with a rolling elbow to score the pin!

Match #4: Megan Bayne def. LMK and Kelly Madan

Bayne dropkicked Kelly in the face with one foot! LMK jumped off the turnbuckles, but Bayne caught her. Bayne was in command as she splashed both women in the corner with ease. Bayne threw Madan on LMK with Fate’s Descent and picked up another victory!

Match #5: Kevin Knight def. AR Fox

Knight hit the UFO splash for a near fall. Fox flipped over the top rope and landed with a double foot stomp on Knight. Kevin connected with a beautiful dropkick. Fox hit a 450 Splash, but Kevin Knight kicked out at the two-count! Kevin spiked Fox with a DDT! Kevin bashed Fox with a flying forearm and defeated AR Fox!

Match #6: FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) def. Daddy Magic & Cool Hand Ang

Daniel Garcia came to ringside to watch the match. FTR quickly assaulted 2.0 once the bell rang, absolutely demolishing them. Daddy Magic was busted wide open, punch drunk in the ring from Dax. Menard did his best to fight back, pounding away at Dax in the corner. Dax delivered a clothesline. FTR mauled Angelo with the Shatter Machine! FTR stuck Daddy Magic with a stuffed piledriver. They picked up Daddy Magic again for a second stuffed piledriver! They were about to go for a third when Garcia told them to knock it off. FTR agreed and pinned Menard.

Match #7: 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Quarterfinal Match – Athena def. Harley Cameron

Athena planted Harley hard on the ring apron. Athena followed up with a wheelbarrow suplex on the arena floor. Harley rallied back with a Russian leg sweep. Athena connected with a running thrust kick for a near fall. Cameron nailed Athena with a running lariat. Harley pounded away on Athena with strikes. Athena jumped off the top, but Harley caught her with a right fist. Harley hit a pump handle back suplex for a near fall. Athena powerbombed Harley. Athena rocked Cameron with the O-Face, pinned her, and advanced in the tournament!

Match #8: 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Quarterfinal Match – Konosuke Takeshita def. Brody King

Brody took down Takeshita with a belly to back suplex. Brody chopped at Takeshita in the corner. Takeshita nailed Brody with a senton out of nowhere. Brody booted Takeshita in the face. Takeshita fired back with a kick of his own. Brody planted Takeshita with a Death Valley Driver on the apron. Takeshita lured in Brody and blasted him with a knee strike. Takeshita followed up with a tope con hiro! Brody regained momentum with a superplex. Brody smashed Takeshita with a cannonball in the corner. Brody King chopped Takeshita down to the mat. Takeshita got to his feet and dropped Brody with a big right hand strike. Takeshita rocked Brody with a Blue Thunder Bomb. Brody wiped out Takeshita with a massive lariat. Brody planted Takeshita with Dante’s Inferno for a near fall. Takeshtia spiked Brody with a piledriver. He followed up with a deadlift German Suplex and then a lariat for a near fall on Brody King! Takeshita smashed Brody with two running knee strikes. Takeshita lowered the knee pad and struck Brody with two more knee strikes, pinning Brody and advancing in the tournament!
