‘TNA Wrestling’ Review (Nov 28th 2024)
Welcome to this week’s review of TNA Wrestling, which is a Thanksgiving special featuring matches not previously screened on television. Let’s get straight into the review and see what went down on the show…
Match #1: Joe Hendry, PCO & Sami Callihan def. The System (Moose, Eddie Edwards & JDC) – October 2024 (Nashville, TN)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
The unique trio of Joe Hendry, PCO and Sami Callihan face off against perhaps the most dominant group of 2024, The System! PCO takes out Moose with a DDT. PCO chokeslams JDC while Callihan spikes Eddie with the Cactus Driver 97. Hendry puts Eddie away with the Standing Ovation to win!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Jordynne Grace def. Dani Luna – June 2024 (Philadelphia, PA)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
Before Jordynne Grace challenges Masha Slamovich in a 2 Out of 3 Falls match for the Knockouts World Title tomorrow night at Turning Point, we see a Knockouts contest between Grace and Dani Luna of Spitfire! The intense showdown comes to a close when Grace hits Luna with her signature Grace Driver for three!
My Score: 4 out of 5
Match #3: Mustafa Ali def. Trent Seven & Leon Slater – June 2024 (Philadelphia, PA)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
It’s time for X-Division action as Trent Seven, Leon Slater and Mustafa Ali clash in this adrenaline-pumping showdown! Total nonstop action is the name of the game when Ali drags Seven to the outside but Slater takes out both of them by leaping over the corner turnbuckle to the floor. Back in the ring, Slater has Seven beat with the 450 but Ali picks up the pieces to steal the victory!
My Score: 4 out of 5
Match #4: Jake Something def. Mike Bailey – October 2024 (Nashville, TN)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
Mike Bailey goes one-on-one with Jake Something in our next never before seen match from the vault! Hammerstone accompanies Something to ringside after the two formed a devastating duo this year. Something hits an astonishing top rope powerbomb but it’s not enough to keep Bailey down. Bailey ultimately falls victim to the numbers game, leading to a forearm blast from Something to win.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Match #5: Joe Hendry & Rhino def. Fir$t Cla$$ (A.J. Francis & KC Navarro) – November 2024 (Fayetteville, NC)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
After Joe Hendry pokes fun at his opponents, he joins forces with TNA Hall of Famer Rhino to battle A.J. Francis and KC Navarro of Fir$t Cla$$! The action is fast and furious as Rhino takes out Francis with the Gore. Meanwhile, Hendry puts Navarro away with the Standing Ovation for three!
My Score: 3 out of 5
Match #6: PCO def. Moose – July 2024 (Montreal, QC)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
Tomorrow night at Turning Point, Moose puts his newly-won X-Division Title on the line against Laredo Kid – but first, we head back to this never before seen Casket match pitting Moose against PCO! PCO quickly finds himself on the receiving end of a beatdown from The System until Joe Hendry makes the save. Hendry is on the attack when Alisha neutralizes him with a low blow. Moose inadvertently spears Alisha, allowing PCO to capitalize with a Chokeslam. PCO places Moose inside the casket and closes the lid to win!
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #7: Nic Nemeth def. Sami Callihan – September 2024 (San Antonio, TX)
The following is courtesy of tnawrestling.com:
Before Nic Nemeth puts his TNA World Title on the line against Eddie Edwards at Turning Point, we witness an exclusive first-time-ever showdown between Nemeth and Sami Callihan! It’s a back-and-forth bout as both competitors take each other to the limit. Callihan is tuning up the band when Nemeth catches him with his own superkick, followed by the Danger Zone to win!
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Final Verdict: 3.5/5
Another good show this week, and like last week’s TNA, this was an improvement over the few weeks that had come before. Although I can’t help but feel some of the excitement of TNA has gone – some of the matches, while good examples of wrestling, don’t feel as energetic and “must-see” as they were only a few months ago. Maybe it’s overall wrestling fatigue, maybe it’s because the feuds seem like repetition. I don’t know. I just know I’m not as excited for TNA as I once was… Though having random matches on a show really doesn’t help that either. Even if a couple of those matches were REALLY good!
