‘WWE NXT’ Review (Nov 26th 2024)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down on this week’s show!

Match #1: Ethan Page def. Axiom

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Former NXT Champion Ethan Page is headed to Deadline as he conquered the athletic Axiom in a hard-fought match. The NXT Tag Team Champion flew around the ring and tried gas Page out, but the savvy veteran slowed the pace before being hit with a stunning Super Spanish Fly from the top rope. Page and Axiom battled with All Ego targeting his opponents back, slowing him down but not enough to stop hit him from hitting an incredible Hurricanrana, but Page countered the Golden Ratio with a huge lariat to win the match.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #2: Lola Vice def. Wren Sinclair

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Wren Sinclair accidentally found herself in the crosshairs of Lola Vice and felt her wrath in a one-on-one match. Sinclair used her mat technician skills to systematically dissect Vice, showing off the skills she used as a member of No Quarter Catch Crew. However, she showed hesitation in crushing Vice’s hand against the steel steps, opening up a window for Vice to hit a sudden Spinning Backfist and knock Sinclair out.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #3: NXT North American Championship – Tony D’Angelo def. Shawn Spears

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Despite not being 100%, Tony D’Angelo walked out of NXT with his North American Championship still around his waist. Spears made it a point to target the already injured knee of the champion, even locking in a Figure Four Leg Lock to inflict more damage. The Don showed that he had the heart of the champion and hit a huge Spinebuster to retain his title.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #4: Giulia def. Kelani Jordan

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The Beautiful Madness became the next Superstar to qualify for the Women’s Iron Survivor Match at Deadline by defeating Kelani Jordan. Jordan and Giulia showed up and showed out, proving that they are two of NXT’s very best by engaging in an incredible back-and-forth matchup. The former Women’s North American Champion dug down deep to match The Beautiful Madness’ physicality, but a brutal knee strike and Northern Lights Bomb clinched the matchup for Giulia.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Match #5: NXT Women’s North American Championship – Fallon Henley def. Tatum Paxley

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The NXT North American Champion ship remains with Fallon Henley, but Tatum Paxley has gained an ally. Paxley brought the fight right to the champion, but the numbers game immediately favored Henley as Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx made their presence felt early. The challenger fought hard and had a Psycho Trap hooked up, but Jayne’s distraction allowed Henley to hit a Famouser and retain her title. After the match, Fatal Influence continued to beat Paxley down, only for Gigi Dolin to return from injury and take the group out.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

Another strong episode of NXT, thanks again to the number Iron Survivor qualifier matches and not one, but two(!) title matches. I’ve always said, tournaments always make wrestling shows better. And this week’s NXT was certainly an example of that!
