‘WWE NXT’ Review (Dec 26th 2023)
Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…
Match #1: OTM def. Chase U
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Andre Chase will have to find a new way to fix Chase U’s money problems as he failed to win SCRYPTS’ money after losing to OTM. With OTM’s big win, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price will get a future Tag Team Title Match against Tony D’Angelo and Stacks.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #2: Heritage Cup Match – Noam Dar def. Josh Briggs (DQ)
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Josh Briggs wanted to prove that he could win without Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley in his corner, but it proved to be an unwise decision as NXT Heritage Cup Champion Noam Dar and The Meta-Four frustrated Briggs to the point where he snapped and got disqualified.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #3: Cora Jade def. Karmen Petrovic
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The Resident Mean Girl of NXT is already racking up wins in her return, this time defeating the up-and-coming Karmen Petrovic. Petrovic’s karate-style offense initially confused Jade, but her experience and determination put her over the top.
My Score: 2 out of 5
Match #4: NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament – Riley Osborne def. Lexis King
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Chase U’s Riley Osborne punched his ticket to the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament finals by defeating Lexis King after Trey Bearhill finally exacted some payback against the brash newcomer after he replaced him in the tournament.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #5: Bron Breakker def. Nathan Frazer
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Power met speed as Bron Breakker crushed Nathan Frazer in a matchup of two of NXT’s best and brightest. Frazer nearly pulled off the upset, but one spear from Breakker was enough to earn the win.
My Score: 3.5 out of 5
Match #6: NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament – Oba Femi def. Tavion Heights
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The monstrous Oba Femi is one step closer to winning the NXT Men’s Breakout Tournament after an incredible matchup between him and Tavion Heights.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #7: Joe Gacy def. Joe Coffey
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The enigmatic Joe Gacy is not only back, but he’s also back to his winning ways as he defeated Joe Coffey thanks to an inadvertent assistant from Hank Walker & Tank Ledger.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5
Match #8: NXT Underground Match – Eddy Thorpe def. Dijak
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
An NXT Underground Match proved to be the perfect place for Eddy Thorpe and Dijak to settle their score, and it came to a thrilling conclusion. Both Superstars battered and bruised each other, but in the end, Thorpe stood tall and forced the stoppage, prompting a standing ovation from the NXT Universe.
My Score: 3 out of 5
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
Last week’s episode was one of the dullest episodes of NXT in some time and this one was only just, JUST, better than that!
