‘WWE NXT’ Review (Nov 14th 2023)

by Phil Wheat

Welcome to this week’s review of NXT, right here on Nerdly. Let’s get straight into it and see what went down in this episode…

Match #1: NXT Tag Team Championship Match – Tony D’Angelo & Stacks def. Chase U

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The gold is coming back to The Family as Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo reclaimed the NXT Tag Team Titles just weeks after losing them to Chase U at Halloween Havoc. Jacy Jayne once again tried to interfere in the match, but a clearly distracted Andre Chase refused her help, allowing Tony D and Stacks to hit Bada Bing Bada Boom and become the new champions.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #2: Iron Survivor Qualifying Match – Lash Legend def. Roxanne Perez

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

The Meta-Four’s Lash Legend stunned Roxanne Perez to qualify for the Iron Survivor Challenge at NXT Deadline. Legend’s Meta-Four companions were tossed from ringside by the official, but Kiana James emerged and doomed Perez, allowing Legend to score the victory.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #3: Iron Survivor Qualifying Match – Trick Williams def. Joe Coffey

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Trick Williams is officially headed to NXT Deadline as he qualified for the Iron Survivor Challenge by defeating Joe Coffey. Gallus backed up Coffey while Carmelo Hayes posted up in Trick’s corner, and the reunion of Trick Melo Gang inspired him to get the much-needed win.

My Score: 3 out of 5

Match #4: Brawling Brutes def. OTM

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Fight Night came to NXT as Butch and Ridge Holland took out OTM in a hard-hitting affair. All four Superstars had the same brawling mentality, but The Brutes stood tall in the end.

My Score: 2.5 out of 5

Match #5: Gigi Dolin def. Arianna Grace

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

A backstage encounter necessitated the need for a match between Gigi Dolin and Arianna Grace, a bout dominated by Dolin. Grace tried to steal a victory, but the referee caught her using the ropes for leverage, allowing Dolin to come back with an incredible twisting slam.

My Score: 2 out of 5

Match #6: Baron Corbin def. Wes Lee

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Baron Corbin wants to burn the ships, and he’s well on his way to accomplishing that goal after a statement victory over the returning Wes Lee. Lee looked poised to win, but North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio intervened and gave Corbin enough time to hit a ring-rattling End of Days.

My Score: 3.5 out of 5

Final Verdict: 2.5/5

A pretty weak outing for NXT this week, with what felt like a ton of filler matches and only a couple really worth your time – with Baron Corbin surprisingly being in the best match of the night! There was a LOT of set-up for NXT Deadline, so hopefully the lull this weeks pays off then.
