‘WWE 205 Live’ Review (Mar 19th 2021)

by Nathan Favel

Welcome to this week’s 205 Live review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have another episode of “The little WWE show that could”… Let’s go!

Match #1: Ashante “Thee” Adonis def. Ariya Daivari

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In matchup between arguably the two best trash talkers on 205 Live, Ashante “Thee” Adonis snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to stun Ariya Daivari. The Persian Lion, who was defeated by August Grey in controversial fashion last week and entered this match in an even worse mood than usual, took control when he grabbed a fist full of his opponent’s hair and yanked him to the met before dropkicking his knee. Seconds later, Daivari drilled Adonis with the Hammerlock Lariat, only to break his own pinfall attempt. Daivari followed up with a picture-perfect frog splash from the top rope and nonchalantly covered his foe, but Adonis rolled him up in a crucifix pinning predicament for the 1-2-3!

The Score: 6 out of 10

  • The Good: Ashante (not the singer) worked well with Ariya. There’s plenty of consistent action to watch here, like an elk skiing down the Rio Grande. Like a cougar falling down a mountain, this match had meaty action like a penguin tumbling down a fat chick during sex. I can land a damn penguin! I’m a hot chick! Ariya has come far in his skills. Look at him! He’s not boring any more! Ashante (not the singer) has made great strides and you can see it in this match.
  • The Bad: This all came to an end way too early. Just as this was starting to get somewhere, it just ended.
  • The Verdict: The match tried to be great, but time was not on its side.

Match #2: (Main Event) Jake Atlas def. Tony Nese

The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

It was a rough night for the self-proclaimed 205 Live OGs, as Tony Nese joined his comrade Ariya Daivari in the loser’s circle after coming up short against Jake Atlas. Nese looked to have the upper hand when he brutalized Atlas around the ringside area and planted him with a belly-to-back suplex when they returned to the squared circle, but Atlas dug deep to drop The Premier Athlete with a brainbuster. Nese landed a springboard moonsault for a two-count and slapped Atlas in the face, which turned out to be a costly mistake, as an incensed Atlas struck back with a flurry of right hands. Moments later, he spiked his foe into the canvas with his Cartwheel DDT to earn the victory.

The Score: 7 out of 10

  • The Good: Damn good. Atlas and Nese is an easy pair to…pair together. I didn’t use the same word twice! I’m a better writer than my shrink says I am! Atlas and Nese are cut from the same cloth. They both take the same chances out in the ring and always seem to find enough success to warrant doing it again. The skill on display here was nothing to sneeze at…unless you have to sneeze.
  • The Bad: It needed some more time to get to a proper crescendo.
  • The Verdict: Without a great finale to speak of, you still get a worthwhile main event from two of the best wrestling today.

Final Verdict: 6/10

Buddy Epson once said, “Lil’ Vicky destroyed my credit rating, because I ate her pussy…cat.” What does that have to do with this review? This was a nice show.
