365Flicks Podcast: Episode 152 – Director Philip Barantini (Villain, Boiling Point, Seconds Out)

Kev sits down to chat with actor turned director Philip Barantini. After seeing his debut feature Villain starring the awesome Craig Fairbrass, Kev just had to get the director on to talk. Before we get there though we find out that Barantini has had a varied career in acting. Starting at a young age on Brit show Dream Team as young Billy O’Neil before moving onto Band of Brothers working for Spielberg and Hanks.

Movies wise Philip broke into flicks like Ned Kelly, The Escapist and recently Nightshooters. All of this before turning to Directing with Short films like Seconds Out which is showing at Romford Film Festival this year. Boiling Point was his second short, a one take short starring Stephen Graham which has now been turned into a feature film coming soon.

Villian is available on DVD and all good streaming sites, we recommend the crap out of the flick. Its a London Gangster movie with a ton of heart and a compelling story breathing fresh life into the genre…
