‘Ring of Honor’ Wrestling Review (March 7th 2020)

by Nathan Favel

Welcome to this week’s Ring Of Honor review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have more from Free Enterprise, because it’s too difficult to tape a new two hour card and split it between two weeks’ worth of one hour shows. Bill Cobbs could kick Sylvester Stallone’s ass and we’re getting right to the action.

Match #1: Brody King def. Rey Horus

The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:

Horus, one-third of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champions, scored some near falls, but in the end the massive King hit a Gonzo Bomb to score an impressive win.

My Opinion: 3.4 out of 5 – This was a hearty fight between two tough guys who made a clash of styles work to their advantage. King is like a poor man’s Chris Hero, which isn’t a bad comparison to make at all. Rey flew around like a psychopath with license to thrill and that’s perfect for a sport that rewards grabbing another guy’s crotch real hard for money. Aw hell, this was good.

Match #2: (Main Event) PCO and Marty Scurll def. RUSH and Nick Aldis

The following is courtesy of rohwrestling.com:

Aldis and RUSH surprisingly worked well together during the early stages of the match, but after Aldis inadvertently hit RUSH, RUSH abandoned him. Scurll did his finger-break spot on Aldis, and PCO followed with a chokeslam and moonsault to pick up the victory.

My Opinion: 3.6 out of 5 – This was pretty good, with a nice mixture of fighting styles on display here. There was plenty of PCO trying to kill himself, which has become his thing. Like James Woods partying at a middle school, this was…wait, did he ever actually do that? I know about the whole thing with Amber Tamblyn, but…any-way. There’s a nice amount of action here and it was a good main event.

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

Screw it. Both matches were worth watching and it made the show fun.
