‘All Elite Wrestling: Dark’ Review (Feb 28th & March 3rd 2020)

by Nathan Favel

Welcome to this double-loaded review of AEW Dark, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I’m really behind. There was a special extra episode of AEW Dark that is getting reviewed at the same time as this special short episode of AEW Dark. If I have to write AEW Dark one more time, then I’m gonna piss a biscuit.

FEB 28th 2020

Match #1: Luther defeated Sonny Kiss

My Opinion: 2.2 out of 5 – Why did Kiss, who is one of the best today, lose again, to little fanfare no less? Is it the ass? Chicks dig the ass. Why disrespect the ass? Luther is a legend in Japan, but sense he has seen better days and has less to work with than Kiss, why not let Kiss win? What about the ass? Oh, the match wasn’t good. Do you know what was good? …a good steak fajita, with nice, hot queso sauce and some picante drizzled all over the place. That’s so good. Also, the ass…

Match #2: The Dark Order defeated Peter Avalon & Michael Nakazawa

My Opinion: 2 out of 5 – This was three minutes of “book something else next time”.

Match #3: Dr. Britt Baker defeated Miranda Alize

My Opinion: 2.4 out of 5 – This was okay, but not enough for me to really spend much time talking about. Britt as a heel doesn’t work half as well as so many seem to think. Alize is good and, in a longer match, she might be able to show what she can do. In any case, Bob Eubanks is an old bastard.

Match #4: (Main Event) Private Party defeated Shawn Spears & Brandon Cutler

My Opinion: 2.7 out of 5 – Spears looked good and so did Cutler, but this wasn’t their match to impress in. PP is okay, but they have too many problems with the physical part of wrestling for them to deserve getting more attention than they already get. Hey, if you like watching AEW’s version of The Street Profits, then rock on, but with so many talented wrestlers working today, it’s hard to push for two guys who aren’t even there yet beating two guys who just need to crack through the glass ceiling. Overall, this had good action, but the result was never in question and neither was the low quality.

MARCH 3rd 2020

Match #1: (Main Event) Dr. Britt Baker & Penelope Ford defeated RIHO & Yuka Sakazaki

My Opinion: 3 out of 5 – This was good, but nothing worth breaking the bank over. It was less than ten minutes and was typical wrestling action with no juice. I’m not even motivated to ruin the review with a bad joke. This was just there and it was fine, but that’s it.

Final Verdict: 2.7/5 and 2.3/5

This was two shows that were easy to miss.
