‘NXT UK’ Review (Feb 13th 2020)
Welcome to this week’s NXT UK review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have plenty of…nothing. The frist three matches don’t even make it to five minutes. What the f— are these people playing at? Damn it!
Match #1: Aoife Valkyrie def. Amale
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Aoife Valkyrie made an impressive NXT UK debut, besting Amale with an earth-shattering leg drop off the top rope to the back of her opponent’s neck. Valkyrie has arrived!
My Opinion: 1.8 out of 5 – This was a lame match and bad debut for Valkyrie. What a shame…and short too.
Match #2: Dave Mastiff def. Saxon Huxley
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Two weeks after Dave Mastiff’s impression of NXT United Kingdom Champion WALTER led to a confrontation with The Ring General, “The Bomber” incorporated some of the dangerous titleholder’s arsenal into his offense as he laid waste to Saxon Huxley with Into the Void.
My Opinion: 1.7 out of 5 – What the hell? Why didn’t this go more than a few minutes? Kiss my ass.
Match #3: Joe Coffey def. Amir Jordan
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
With his Gallus brothers at ringside, Joe Coffey lifted his knees to stop Amir Jordan from landing a top-rope senton before hitting All The Best of the Bells for the big three-count. In the aftermath, The Iron King fired another message to Ilja Dragunov on the “debt” he owes “the Gallus firm” after NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II and to taunt Mark Coffey & Wolfgang’s imminent opponents, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch.
My Opinion: 2 out of 5 – This was…it went a minute longer than the other two matches.
Match #4: (Main Event) Gallus def. Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch
The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
In a tag team main event between two tough-as-nails duos, NXT UK Tag Team Champions Mark Coffey & Wolfgang overcame Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch with a kick-powerslam combination.
My Opinion: 3.3 out of 5 – This went about ten minutes, but it was good, nonetheless. I like it when the matches actually go for a bit. This was easy-viewing, as you might expect with the names involved. Can we let these matches go for a while next time?
Final Verdict: 2.5/5
2.5 feels a bit generous, considering that there’s only one match worth watching, but I’m trying to be nice and fair…TO THESE GOD-D— SONSAB——!
