The Last Week in Wrestling #43 (Wrestling Round-Up)
Welcome to this edition of the The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Jack Black f—– a guy in a movie. I’m serious. This week, we have a bunch of cool stuff to get to, but I don’t remember what any of it is. I’ll just pretend I know what I’m talking about, as usual. I’m using this TalkTech/TechTalk thing and it keeps cutting in to other people’s phone calls. Did you hide the body? She had to die! Ummmmmm…that wasn’t me. Okay, let’s get started.
Best Moment:
MJF Does The Obvious (All Elite Wrestling) – MJF finally turned on Cody Rhodes, which was a surprise to no one.
Best Promo:
Silver Spoon (All Elite Wrestling) – Cody Rhodes gave what has already become the Hard Times of its generation, citing his good fortune in life does not mean he does not have the spirit of a fighter.
Best Speaker:
Chris Jericho (All Elite Wrestling) – Jericho cut another great promo. Do I really need to say anything more?
Best Character:
Triple H (World Wrestling Entertainment) – HHH played the part of a tempter to Seth Rollins, as he tried to get the former NXT wrestler to return to the brand to help conquer Raw and SmackDown.
Best Wrestler:
PAC (All Elite Wrestling) – PAC wrestled a lot this week and scored a couple of great performances along the way.
Best Performance:
Timothy Thatcher and Low Ki (Major League Wrestling) – It’s a damn tie. These two wrestled each other in the opener of Fusion and had a tremendous match, thanks to the wrestling skills of both men.
Best Move:
Rolling Cross Armbreaker (World Wrestling Entertainment) – Pete Dunne broke this sucker out to finish off his opponent.
Best Match:
Jon Moxley versus Kenny Omega – Lights Out Match (All Elite Wrestling) – This was horrifying, but great.
Best Card:
Full Gear (All Elite Wrestling) – This was an excellent Pay Per View that had a fantastic assemblage of matches. There was variety and grandeur, which is just an excuse to remind you I’m pompous enough to use the word grandeur.
Best Show:
Fusion (Major League Wrestling) – This was a two match show with two great matches and a focus on the important stuff for the future.
Best League:
All Elite Wrestling – They took most of the awards this week. Who else should be the best league of the week?
______
Final Verdict: 3.8/5
There were kinks in everyone’s armor, but the metal stayed sturdy anyway, so that’s all right.
