The Last Week In Wrestling #34 (Wrestling Round-Up)

by Nathan Favel

Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have another week to get to, so let’s do so before you go girl and take me dancing tonight.

Best Promo:

Aries Wants The Strap (Major League Wrestling) – Austin Aries cut a good promo on wanting to challenge Teddy hart for the MLW Middle-Weight Title. Some-times, all a promo needs to be said seriously and with conviction, which is what happened here.

Best Moment:

Banks Is Back (WWE) – Sasha Banks attacked Natalya while she spoke of a vision from her dead father Jim Neidhart. Then Sasha attacked Becky Lynch and might have clocked her in the back of the head (by accident).

Best Move:

Canadian Destroyer (Ring Of Honor) – Bandido did a Canadian Destroyer to PCO on the apron. Holy $#!@. Picture that and you’ll get why I’m giving it the award.

Best Personality:

Salina de la Renta (Major League Wrestling) – Salina continues to be great as a heel manager with vindictive aspirations..

Best Character:

Mance Warner (Major League Wrestling) – Mance has quickly become a great mad-man of the people type of character.

Best Performance:

Buddy Murphy (WWE) – On SmackDown, Buddy had a career-best performance in an excellent match against Roman Reigns.

Best Wrestler:

Drew Gulak (WWE) – Drew was great on 205 Live and continues to look like a great champion.

Best Card:

Impact Wrestling – This wasn’t much of a race this week, but Impact had a solid card that gave much of the roster a shot at some-thing meaningful.

Best Show:

NXT UK (WWE) – This was a fine show that had more than enough going on to make it worth watching.

Best Match:

Drew Gulak versus Oney Lorcan – WWE Cruiser-Weight Championship Match (WWE) – This was a strong title match that made up for a weaker version that had appeared on SummerSlam just a few days before.

Best League:

Major League Wrestling – This league did well with a small show and set itself up for better things to come.

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This was a good week that had some blemishes (Monday Night Raw), but was pretty good overall.
