‘WWE Evolution’ PPV Preview & Predictions
Welcome to this WWE Evolution preview, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and this is the first WWE Pay per View to feature an entire card for their female roster. Let’s take a look at that card and see what we have.
Battle Royal — Winner receives future Women’s Championship Match
Asuka vs. Naomi vs. Nia Jax vs. Carmella vs. Ember Moon vs. Billie Kay vs. Peyton Royce vs. Sonya Deville vs. Mandy Rose vs. Lana vs. Zelina Vega vs. Tamina vs. Dana Brooke vs. Torrie Wilson vs. Michelle McCool vs. Alundra Blayze vs. Ivory vs. Molly Holly vs. Kelly Kelly vs. Maria Kanellis
My Take: This will be fine, especially with Alundra/Madusa being involved. Hell, we’ve got Molly Holly again, which ain’t too bad considering we don’t get a lot from her since she retired. Asuka should win this and get the title shot. Hey, Ivory is in here too. It’s also nice to see Torrie, McCool and Kelly Kelly.
Six-Woman Tag Team Match
Natalya, Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. The Riott Squad
My Take: I would have rather had these six wrestlers in the battle royal so they could get a possible title shot, but this should be a decent match. The faces should win, but it would be nice for the Riott Squad to get some juice in the tank, so maybe it would be better for them to gain a victory.
Tag Team Match
Trish Stratus & Lita vs. Mickie James & Alicia Fox (with Alexa Bliss in their corner)
My Take: Trish and Lita should a good match. With Mickie involved I can certainly see this whole thing getting right to the point and being all action.
2018 Mae Young Classic Final
Io Shirai vs. Toni Storm
My Take: This could steal the show. I’d go with Toni winning, but I’d be happy with either one walking away with victory.
NXT Women’s Championship Match
Kairi Sane (c) vs. Shayna Baszler
My Take: These two may just beat each other to death. Sane will retain her title, but if Shayna got the strap back, it wouldn’t hurt my feelings.
SmackDown Women’s Championship Last Woman Standing Match
Becky Lynch (c) vs. Charlotte Flair
My Take: This is the real main event and will be the match the crowd responds to most. Becky should win and get to move on to Asuka, whether the latter wins the card’s battle royal or not.
Raw Women’s Championship Match
Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Nikki Bella
My Take: As long as Ronda wins decisively, then people won’t care what the match is like. Nikki just doesn’t feel like a marquee athlete, but Ronda is the most popular female athlete in the world and, arguably, the most popular athlete of either gender, without question.
