Final Verdict: 2.5/5

There were some fabulous matches from Impact this week, but there was so much stupidity from the league formerly known as TNA. I gave Bound For Glory a good numerical review, but that was because the wrestling was quite good, except for a couple of bad eggs, rather than Don Callis and Anthem making a great show. Impact has regressed severely this year and I wonder why so many wrestling reviewers are pleased with this now when they got the same thing just a few years ago and hated it?

Ring Of Honor Match Ratings Out of 5:

  • Kenny King versus Chase Owens – 3
  • Flip Gordon versus Shane Taylor – 0
  • The Young Bucks [Nick Jackson and Matt Jackson] beat The Addiction [Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian], Best Friends [Trent Baretta and Chuck Taylor] and Los Ingernobles De Japon [EVIL and SANADA] – Four-Corner Survival Match For A Tag Team Title Shot – 3.5

Final Verdict: 3/5

Ring Of Honor was good this week, but needed a little zest… I guarantee!

lucha-underground-wide-header

Lucha Underground Match Ratings Out of 5:

  • Jake Strong versus Big Bad Steve versus Aerostar versus PJ Black versus Hernandez versus Dante Fox versus King Cuerno – Battle Royale Match For #1 Contendership To The Gift of the Gods Title – 2
  • Killshot versus The Mack – 3
  • Jake Strong versus Johnny Mundo – 4.5

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

The Main Event saved the day for a dull card that got shafted by the bookers.

Major League Wrestling Match Ratings Out of 5:

  • El Hijo de LA Park versus Sammy Guevara – 3
  • Smash n Dash Connection versus Samoan Island Tribe – 2.5
  • “Filthy” Tom Lawlor versus Shane “Swerve” Strickland – 4

Final Verdict: 3.5/5

This was an aimless show that was saved by a very vital main event.
______

Best Promo:

John Cena’s Bed-Room Door (WWE: Raw) – Ronda Rousey made a crack about Nikki Bella sleeping her way to the top with John Cena that made many people upset that it set back gender equality in the WWE, but it was also the only thing to make the feud between Nikki and Ronda interesting. This kind of promo only works once, so this should be the only one of these we get.

Best Moment:

Momma Mia! (WWE: Mae Young Classic) – After Mia Yim wrestled her ass off in the quarter-finals of the tournament, the crowd showered her with praise in a great display that led to triple H giving her a contract with the WWE.

Best Move:

Tope (Austin Aries- Impact Wrestling: Bound For Glory) – Austin did this move on Taya Valkyrie during the climax of the World Title match and started a fervor of controversy that was the talk of the league all week.

Best Wrestler Or Wrestlers:

John Hennigan (Johnny Mundo and Johnny Impact – Lucha Underground and Impact Wrestling: Bound For Glory) – With two 4.5 matches in the same week, the man of a thousand names more than deserves this honor. I almost gave it to The Shield, but Hennigan gets it because he delivered for two different leagues at the same time.

Best Match:

Johnny Impact versus Austin Aries: Impact World Title Match (Impact Wrestling: Bound For Glory) – This was one of the best matches of the year and one of Impact’s few moments of triumph this year.

Best Card:

Mae Young Classic (WWE) – Four excellent matches hit the mark and made for a great deal of fun.

Best Show:

Mae Young Classic (WWE) – With four excellent matches and a great finale for Mia Yim, this whole thing went over really well.

Best League:

WWE – Vince had a really good week. There was a lot of good, even when a polyp or two sprouted on the big, corporate ass of Titan Towers.

Final Judgement: 3.5/5

There was some real ball-busters that cracked the crotch this week, but there was a lot of great wrestling from the sport and a good promo or two as well. I hope things go even better, next week.
