Trailer for the Titan/Hard Case Crime graphic novel ‘Normandy Gold’

by Phil Wheat

Check out this fantastic trailer for Titan’s new Hard Case Crime graphic novel, Normandy Gold, which goes on sale April 10th… Sex, violence and corruption collide in this gritty vigilante thriller from best-selling crime authors Alison Gaylin (What Remains Of Me) & Megan Abbott (You Will Know Me) – who recently received a Writers Guild Award nomination for ‘Outstanding Writing’ for her work on HBO’s The Deuce – with artwork by Steve Scott (Batman, X-Men Forever, JLA).

When her younger sister is found at the center of a brutal murder investigation, tough-as-nails Sheriff Normandy Gold is forced to dive headfirst into the seedy world of 1970s prostitution and soon discovers a twisted conspiracy leading right to the White House.

Said Megan Abbott and Alison Gaylin:

Normandy Gold was born of our mutual love of 70s movies. The gritty look, the relentless pacing, the deeply flawed heroes and the dizzying unpredictability of films like The Parallax View, Three Days of the Condor, All the President’s Men and The Conversation resonated with both us, as did the creeping, this-could-really-happen sense of paranoia they continue to inspire. When we wrote the script for Normandy, we wanted to make sure the art would feel not just “70s” but cinematic.

Normandy Gold is part of Titan’s new Hard Case Crime comics imprint, which has seen recent graphic novel publications, Triggerman by visionary director Walter Hill (The Warriors), Peepland, by crime author Christa Faust, a new adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo – Millennium, and the highly anticipated release of Babylon Berlin in February 2018 – a graphic novel adaptation of the book that inspired the new TV show starting on Netflix on January 30th.
