First official ‘Black Site’ teaser trailer is here…

by Kevin Haldon

Its here, it’s actually finally here… Well a trailer… Well a teaser trailer… But its something though! Check this out…

We at 365Flicks and Nerdly have been championing Tom Paton since I had the pleasure of being sent Pandorica and asked to give it a review. I have told the story on the podcast a couple of times but upon really getting a kick out of the movie and writing up a nice little article, well Tom got to read it and reached out to me over Twitter. I asked him to come on the show to talk Pandorica, he teased us about his second flick Redwood, which we got to see at SFW in Wales (sort of a soft screening). We gushed over that and after numerous conversations the guys invited us to spend the day on the set of Black Site. We had an amazing day and got to meet so many awesome members of the cast and crew including our other three-time guest Mike Beckingham (Hmmm, I wonder who get the 4th guest spot first).

Black Site looks like its going to be the absolute bollocks (for the Americans that’s a good thing). Tom and his team keep growing and growing right in front of us. I adored Pandorica for what it showed – what could be done by a talented group of Brit filmmakers on a shoestring budget. Redwood opened my eyes to the potential of this genre bursting director and if this 1 minute teaser is anything to go by Tom Paton, George Burt, Craig Hinde and the team are about to smash it again…

BLACK SITE is the story of Ren Reid, orphaned as a child when a member of an ancient race known as The Elder Gods killed her parents. Twenty Years have passed and a fractured Ren now works for Artemis, an organization set up to contain and then deport these entities back to where they came from. When the Elder God responsible for Ren’s childhood tragedy is caught and brought to The Black Site for deportation, Ren must partner with an unlikely ally as the last line of defense against a wave of worshippers hell bent on releasing their deity back into the world. With the facility on lockdown and the enemy closing in, Ren has just hours to avenge her parents and prove once and for all that she is worthy of wearing the Artemis uniform.

Mike Beckingham stars in the movie, as a follow-up to his first collaboration with Tom Paton, REDWOOD (set for a major release later this year}. Early reactions to that movie have been beyond positive, setting the table for this larger, more ambitious production to introduce audiences to the rich & detailed world Paton has created in BLACK SITE. (An expansive, potential franchise starter that spans a wealth of known mythology weaved in amongst something unexpected).

Also starring Kris Johnson, Bentley Kalu, Samantha Schnitzler, Angela Dixon, Luke D’Silva and Pheobe Robinson-Galvin, Black Site is set for a 2018 release.
