Frightfest 2017 Interview: ‘Diane’ director Michael Mongillo

by Stuart Wright

Time for another Frightfest 2017 interview as our host Stuart Wright talks to writer/director Michael Mongillo about his film Diane, which has it’s World Premiere on Frightfest’s opening night, Thursday August 24th.

Stephen King and Brian De Palma meet Gus Van Sant and Elmore Leonard when Steve, a disabled war veteran, discovers the dead body of beautiful singer Diane in his back yard. Soon his fascination with her photographic image has turned into an obsession in an audacious supernatural horror thriller telling a compelling and honest story about the human condition. The prime suspect in the puzzling crime, Steve is scrutinized by the police, hassled by Diane’s widower and attacked by self-righteous neighbours as the malevolent ghost of Diane begins to work a dark spell that leads to strange and startling revelations.

The Horror Channel Frightfest takes place August 24th – 28th 2017 at both the Empire Cinema and Prince Charles Cinema in London’s Leicester Square.
