First trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s ‘The Shape of Water’

The trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s next film, which is set for a December release, The Shape of Water, which looks remarkably like a cross between Hellboy’s Abe Sapien and The Creature From the Black Lagoon (a film incidentally del Toro expressed an interest in remaking). The film stars Sally Hawkins, Michael Shannon, Richard Jenkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, Octavia Spencer, Nick Searcy and Doug Jones.

From master storyteller, Guillermo del Toro, comes The Shape of Water – an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War-era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.

The Shape of Water is set for release on December 8th.
