Hey! I enjoyed your discussion of the movie. There were a number of things that happened during the production that led to the results you saw on screen. The editing on the movie due to budget issues led to many of the problems you picked up on. The choppy confusing editing during the Concom raid? That scene in the movie is litterally 30 seconds out of a 10 minute sequence that included a fight with the Pilgrim traitor and more. Anyway, you can read up on a lot of what was cut (with some bonus screenshots) here: http://www.wcnews.com/articles/movie_cuts.shtml or see how they fit into the shooting script here: http://www.wcnews.com/wcpedia/Wing_Commander_Movie_Shooting_Script
