Lisa Wood, Thought Bubble Festival Director said:

We are incredibly excited about entering the second decade of Thought Bubble and the support from fans of the festival has been incredible as we look forward to 2017’s festival. We will be doing things a little differently as we expand the site to accommodate our growing audience. This year with support from Leeds BID and Leeds City Council we are building our own bespoke festival village in the heart of Leeds City Centre – the first of its kind in the country! We are expecting 60,000 visitors across the whole festival week and our new city centre location means that more people than ever before can join us as we celebrate all things comics!

Martin Dickson, Head of Marketing at LeedsBID, said:

Leeds should be hugely proud of being the home of this most unique and highly successful comic art festival which has helped put this city on the map nationally and internationally. By helping to bring Thought Bubble centre stage into the heart of the city centre, we look forward to seeing it grow in appeal, attracting new audiences, while having extra impact in its new location.

Thought Bubble Festival is the UK’s largest event of its kind – an annual celebration of sequential art in all its forms! Including everything from superhero comics to independent and small-press artists and writers, Thought Bubble seeks to promote literacy and artistic skills through the medium of sequential art. Thought Bubble formed in 2007 as a non-profit-making organisation dedicated to promoting comics as an important national and international cultural art-form.

  • Four brand new exhibition halls in Millennium Square, Leeds Town Hall Square, Victoria Hall and Cookridge Street
