First trailer & poster for ‘The LEGO Ninjago Movie’

by Phil Wheat

The latest in the LEGO cinematic universe (did I really just say that? Sounds surreal…) The LEGO Ninjago Movie is the feature film directorial debut of Charlie Bean, who previously worked on the animated series Tron: Uprising.

Like the previous LEGO movies, The LEGO Ninjago Movie is marked by its astonishing voice cast, which includes the legendary Jackie Chan as Master Wu; Justin Theroux as Garmadon; Dave Franco as Lloyd; and Olivia Munn as Lloyd’s mom, Koko. The rest of the Ninjago crew includes Fred Armisen, who voices Cole; Abbi Jacobson, who plays Nya; Kumail Nanjiani as Jay; Michael Peña as Kai; and Zach Woods, who voices Zane.

In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie is released in the US on September 22nd. The film debuts in UK cinemas on October 13th.
