The Liam Neeson movie franchise Taken is headed to television! Set to debut on February 27th 2017, at least in the US, Taken: The Series follows in the footsteps of that other Luc Besson franchise The Transporter, moving the action to television with a recast of its hero… This version, set to air on NBC, sees Clive Standen (Vikings, Camelot, Doctor Who) taking up the mantel of [a younger] Bryan Mills as he fights to overcome tragedy and exact revenge as a deadly CIA operative.
From the press release:
From Executive Producer Luc Besson (Taken, The Fifth Element) comes a thrilling new addition to his iconic blockbuster action-film franchise. This new, modern-day, edge-of-your-seat thriller follows the origin story of younger, hungrier, former Green Beret Bryan Mills (Clive Standen, Vikings) as he deals with a personal tragedy that shakes his world. As he fights to overcome the incident and exact revenge, Mills is pulled into a career as a deadly CIA operative, a job that awakens his very particular, and very dangerous, set of skills.
Taken: The Series is set to premiere on February 27th and stars Clive Standen, Jennifer Beals, Brooklyn Sudano, Gaius Charles, Monique Gabriela Curnen, James Landry Hebert, Michael Irby, Jose Pablo Cantillo, Jennifer Marsala and Simu Liu.
