Trailer Park: CHIPS get Raw with Their Finest Founder
Welcome to the latest installment of Trailer Park, our semi-regular look at the latest trailers to hit the interwebs. This weeks line-up features a bevy of the latest movie trailers including CHIPS, Their Finest, Raw, Sadako vs Kayako, Kong: Skull Island, The Founder, the restored release of John Waters’ Multiple Maniacs and the fifth season of Prison Break.
CHIPS
Jon Baker (Dax Shepard) and Frank “Ponch” Poncherello (Michael Peña) have just joined the California Highway Patrol (CHP) in Los Angeles but for very different reasons. Baker is a beaten up pro motorbiker trying to put his life and marriage back together. Poncherello is a cocky undercover Federal agent investigating a multi-million dollar heist that may be an inside job—inside the CHP. The inexperienced rookie and hardened pro are teamed together, but clash more than click, so kickstarting a partnership is easier said than done. But with Baker’s bike skills combined with Ponch’s street savvy it might just work…if they don’t drive each other crazy along the way.
Their Finest
1940, London, the Blitz; with the country’s morale at stake, Catrin (Gemma Arterton), an untried screenwriter, and a makeshift cast and crew, work under fire to make a film to lift the nation’s flagging spirits; and inspire America to join the war. Partnered with fellow writer, Buckley (Sam Claflin), the pair, along with fading matinee idol Ambrose Hilliard (Bill Nighy), reluctantly joins forces on a movie to warm the hearts of the nation and capture the imagination of the US public.
Raw
Everyone in Justine’s family is a vet. And a vegetarian. At sixteen she’s a brilliant student starting out at veterinary school where she experiences a decadent, merciless and dangerously seductive world. Desperate to fit in, she strays from her family principles and eats RAW meat for the first time. Justine will soon face the terrible and unexpected consequences as her true self begins to emerge…
Sadako vs Kayako
Hideo Nakata’s Ringu and Takashi Shimizu’s Ju-On: The Grudge are known worldwide as two of the most terrifying and groundbreaking horror films ever made. To this day, horror fans debate: “Which of the two is truly scarier?” and “Whose curse is stronger, Sadako’s or Kayako’s?” No one ever thought that these questions would get answered, let alone think that we would ever see these infamously horrifying demons face off. At long last, Sadako vs. Kayako brings Ringu’s and The Grudge’s two forces of evil into the ring for the ultimate grudge match. Responsible for this franchise-blending is director/screenwriter Koji Shiraishi, who is known for creating unconventional spiritual and supernatural scenes in films such as The Curse, Carved: The Slit-Mouthed Woman, and the Kowasugi series. Now, he brings the characters from Ring and The Grudge back to the big screen as he delivers viewers a wildly fun, tongue-in-cheek thrill ride that finally answers the question: whose curse is stronger?
Kong: Skull Island
A team of explorers and soldiers travel to an uncharted island in the Pacific, unaware that they are crossing into the domain of monsters, including the mythic Kong.
The Founder
The Founder is a drama that tells the true story of how Ray Kroc (Keaton), a salesman from Illinois, met Mac and Dick McDonald, who were running a burger operation in 1950s Southern California. Kroc was impressed by the brothers’ speedy system of making the food and saw franchise potential. He maneuvered himself into a position to be able to pull the company from the brothers and create a billion-dollar empire.
Multiple Maniacs
John Waters’ gloriously grotesque, unavailable-for-decades second feature comes to cinemas at long last, replete with all manner of depravity, from robbery to murder to one of cinema’s most memorably blasphemous moments. Made on a shoestring budget in Baltimore, with Waters taking on nearly every technical task, this gleeful mockery of the peace-and-love ethos of its era features the Cavalcade of Perversion, a traveling show put on by a troupe of misfits whose shocking proclivities are topped only by those of their leader: the glammer-than-glam, larger-than-life Divine, who’s out for blood after discovering her lover’s affair.
Prison Break: Season Five
This year breaking out is just the beginning. The original event series is back, PRISON BREAK returns to FOX!
